摘要： A improved method and apparatus are provided for casting objects. The apparatus includes a molten metal or liquid retaining container with a bottom feed outlet, a casting chamber with a bottom feed inlet, and a connecting portion through which molten metal or liquid from the container portion flows into the casting mold. The melt flows from the melt container to the casting chamber through the hollow connecting portion by movement of the relative positions of the melt container and the casting chamber, allowing for a controlled casting method with a minimum of turbulence.

摘要： Enclosed re-programmable non-volatile memory cards include at least two sets of electrical contacts to which the internal memory is connected. The two sets of contacts have different patterns, preferably in accordance with two different contact standards such as a memory card standard and that of the Universal Serial Bus (USB). One memory card standard that can be followed is that of the Secure Digital (SD) card. The cards can thus be used with different hosts that are compatible with one set of contacts but not the other. A cover that is hinged to the card to normally cover one set of contacts can be rotated out of the way by hand when that set of contacts is being used.

A framework that includes an extensible cache dependency base class that can be used to derive custom cache dependency classes for invalidating cache entries on some custom condition is disclosed. In some embodiments, a Web page server includes a cache and the framework including the extensible cache dependency base. Methods are disclosed for causing a cache entry to be dependent on a customized cache dependency and for invalidating cache entries based on customized cache dependencies. For example, cache entries can depend on and be purged based on dependencies on database tables and Web services.

The composition is an aqueous mixture comprising hydrogen peroxide, ammonium hydroxide, nitric acid and acetic acid. The composition is effective on surfaces which may be comprised of wood, metal, concrete, wallboard or plaster without destroying the integrity of these surfaces.

摘要： Color printing characterized by high color density and color contrast is provided by jetting an ink composition composed of an optically clear, phase change base material and a primary subtractive color dye which is soluble in the base material onto the surface of a printing medium to form a multiplicity of closely spaced color dots or spots arranged to define a line or character on the medium. Each dot consists of one or more well defined, optically clear, semitransparent color layers each of which has a different color so that the observed color of each dot is a true subtractive mixture of the colors in the layers. Specific ink compositions are also disclosed.

摘要： A chip counter for use in gaming applications and the like comprising a tray having a trough for receiving chips, which trough is provided with a slit at the bottom thereof. The chips are stacked in the trough and are each provided with a strip about their periphery which is adapted to be more reflective to illuminating light than the main body of the chip. Reading means scans the chips in the trough along the slit provided therefor and counts pulses representative of the passage across the more highly light emissive edge of the chip. The more highly light emissive portions of the edges of each chip are made narrower than the thickness of each chip to develop discrete pulses.Counting of chips of different denominations is accomplished by providing light emissive strips which emit light of differing wavelengths when light activated. The reader employs filters for passing predetermined light wavelength ranges to develop pulses representative of the proper wavelengths of light to make denominational decisions.
