摘要： PURPOSE: To quench a rolling element with induction heating while keeping surface hardness of the rolling element high and uniform by simultaneously induction-heating both a conical surface and a rear surface of the element via coils for induction heating while rotating the rolling element around a shaft center. CONSTITUTION: The rolling element 1 for a toroidal type non-stage transmission is rotated around the shaft center by holding a rolling jig grasping part with a rolling mechanism 10. The recessed conical surface (rolling surface) 1a of the rolling element 1 is induction-heated by a first coil 2 and the recessed rear surface 1b and a shaft 1c are simultaneously induction-heated by a second coil 3. After the temp., of respective surfaces of the rolling element raise to a prescribed temp., the first coil 2 is retreated sideward and the second coil 3 is retreated upward. Then, a jacket type cooling mechanism 6 is moved from a side and cooling mechanisms 7 of a jacket type 7a and a cooling water jetting nozzle type 7b is moved from the upper side and these are arranged near to respective surface and executes quenching.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a member for structural use improved in bearing strength, fatigue strength and impact strength by subjecting a steel having a specified compsn. to high concn. carburizing treatment or the like and subjecting the non-contact part to partial carburization regulating treatment. CONSTITUTION:A steel constituted of, by weight, 0.10 to 0.35% C, 0.6 to 3.0% Si+Mo, 0.3 to 1.0% Mn, 1.0 to 8.0% Cr and the balance Fe with impurities is used as stock. This steel is subjected to high concn. carburizing treatment or high concn. carbonitriding treatment in such a manner that the C potential on the surface is regulated to 1.0 to 5.0% to precipitate retained austenite together with finely dispersed carbides in the vicinity of the surface of the part requiring bearing strength, by which high pitching resistance can be obtd. Furthermore, a part or the whole of the non- contact part is coated with a partial carburization regulating agent to check the precipitation of carbides causing the generation of fatigue cracks. In this way, its surface hardness and the depth of an effective hardened layer are regulated, by which the above member excellent in bearing strength, fatigue strength and impact strength can be obtd. Thus, this member is suitable for driving transmission parts such as gears.

摘要： PURPOSE:To reduce deforming quantity and its variance caused by quenching treatment and to improve dimensional accuracy of machinery parts by dipping a material to be quenched of the metal part into coolant and quenching the material to be quenched while shifting the coolant from upside to downside to the material to be quenched. CONSTITUTION:In a quenching vessel accommodating the coolant 8, a coolant guide cylinder 4 arranging a coolant guide plate 5 is arranged. In the coolant guide cylinder 4, the material 3 to be quenched of gear, etc., accommodated in a quenching basket jig 2 is charged through an elevator cylinder 7. Next, by driving a stirring fan 1 arranged in the coolant guide cylinder 4 with a stirring motor 6, the coolant 8 is shifted so that flow of the coolant 8 is developed from upside to downside to the above quenching material 3. It is desirable that the flowing speed of the coolant 8 is adjusted to about 0.001-1.0m/sec. By this method, the material 3 to be quenched is quenched while avoiding danger of firing and development of soft spot and also the deforming quantity and its variance caused by the quenching treatment can be reduced.
