    • PURPOSE:To finish a mirror face, by constituting an electric discharge machining electrode in such a manner that many electrode materials are mutually insulated and bound then electrically conducted to flow a current through their respective current limiting units. CONSTITUTION:An electric discharge machining electrode 53 is constituted by collecting many electrode materials 57a-57n. The respective electrode materials are adhesively mounted by a conductive adhesive material or the like to resistors 59a-59n formed by machining grooved parts (g) to a carbon block 66 and constituted to be electrically conducted to flow a current from a current conducting plate 60. Electric discharge machining is performed while applying swivel motion to said electrode 53 to decrease spray capacity between the electrode and a work and enable the machining of a mirror face.

    • PURPOSE:To finish a mirror face through electric discharge machining, by performing electric discharge machining while applying swivel motion to an electrode collectively constituted by divided electrodes in which an electric current is conducted to flow through respective current limiting units. CONSTITUTION:An electrode 53 is constituted by collecting electrode materials 57a-57n, and each electrode material is insulated by insulators 58a-58n and mounted, then an electric current is conducted to flow from a current conducting plate 60 through current limiting units consisting of resistors 59a-59n and transistors 65a-65n. The electrode 53 is fed by an electrode driving gear 56 in the direction of a work 52, while swivel motion containing motion in a vertical plane with said direction is applied to the electrode 53 to perform electric discharge machining of the work 52. In this way, stray capacity between the electrode and the work is decreased to enable the finishing of a mirror face by electric discharge machining.
