    • An electro(stato)graphic method is provided, comprising the steps of image wise applying toner particles to a final substrate and fixing the toner particles on a final non-photoconductive substrate, characterized in that(i) the toner particles comprise at least one substantially light insensitive silver salt (compound B) and at least one reductant (compound A), so as to be capable, upon reaction of compound A and B, of forming a light absorbing substance in said final substrate,(ii) the toner particles optionally comprise a light absorbing pigment or dye(iii) the light absorbing substance can give a maximum density (D.sub.max)>2.00 either on itself or in combination with said light absorbing pigment or dye and(iv) the toner particles are fixed on to the final substrate by heat or by heat and pressure.

    • Heat-developable silver-based photosensitive imaging element comprising a heat-reducible organic silver salt, a photosensitive silver halide, a developing agent, and a releasing compound that upon reaction with either the reduced or the oxidized form of the developing agent is capable of releasing a hydrophobizing agent. The invention also relates to a method for producing a lithographic printing plate comprising image-wise exposing an imaging element, bringing the exposed element in face-to-face contact with an oleophobic surface of a printing plate precursor, heating the imaging element while in contact or before being brought in contact with the oleophobic surface to cause reduction of the organic silver salt and to cause the release of the hydrophobizing agent from the releasing compound, allowing the hydrophobizing agent to diffuse to the oleophobic surface to render the surface image-wise oleophilic, and separating the resulting lithographic printing plate from the imaging element.

    • The present invention provides a method for obtaining an image comprising the steps of:image-wise exposing to intense radiation a heat mode recording material comprising on a support (i) a donor layer containing an image forming substance capable of being transferred upon heating to an image receiving material, (ii) a barrier layer being impermeable for said image forming substance and overlaying said donor layer, and (iii) a light-to-heat converting substance, capable of absorbing the light used for exposing said heat mode recording material and releasing the absorbed energy under the form of heat,rubbing, under dry conditions or with the aid of a non-solvent for the barrier layer, the thus obtained image-wise exposed heat mode recording material to remove said barrier layer at the exposed parts andoverall heating the exposed heat mode recording material whilst in contact with an image receiving material thereby causing an image-wise transfer of said image forming substance to said image receiving material.
