    • PURPOSE:To provide a plunger for an inexpensive transfer molding machine, which is superior in wear resistance, by a method wherein a side sliding face of the plunger is made a build-up layer where hard particles are held through dispersion on a substrate composed of a Fe group alloy or Fi group alloy or Co group alloy or alloy of those through build-up welding of a powdery material. CONSTITUTION:A build-up layer 2a is formed on a side sliding face after a plunger matrix heat-treated and then a pressurizing face 2c of the tip is plated with bard chromium. An alloy of a generally known ingredient is used as an alloy for a substrate and WC, TiC, TiN, TiB2, VC, SiO2 are mentioned as hard particles. A weld penetration rate is extremely low so that it is 5% or lower and delicate control in a thickness of a build-up layer is possible, in build-up welding of a powdery material. As the quality of the material can be selected regardless of manufacturing of a welding rod for the build-up welding of the powdery material, manufacturing of far highly efficient plunger is possible.

    • PURPOSE:To form fine bubbles and to improve degassing efficiency by mounting porous packing materials into the blow-off ports of a gas blow pipe and constituting respective parts of Si3N4 ceramics or sialor specified in bending strength, density and thermal impact temp. CONSTITUTION:The blow-off ports 5 are screwed to the other end of a distribution rod 4 of the gas blow pipe 1 and porous refractories as the packing materials 6 are mounted into the space parts at the ends of the ports 5. The blown gas passes the microgaps of the materials 6 in the ports 5 and disintegrates the bubbles formed in a molten metal to the finer bubbles. The degassing efficiency is thus improved. The Si3N4 ceramics or sialor is used as the material for the respective parts to constitute said pipe 1. The material the bending strength of which is >=50kg/mm , the density is >=95% of theoretical density, and the thermal impact temp. by an underwater charging method is DELTAT=>=400 deg.C is used as said material. The reduction in the size and weight of the pipe 1 and the extension of the life thereof are thereby attained.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the durability of a cylinder and the yield of a product by forming at least the inside surface of the cylinder of silicon nitride ceramics or ceramics consisting of Sialon and having specific bending strength, density, etc. CONSTITUTION:The ceramic cylinder 1 is fixed into a plate 4 of a casting machine and a piston 2 is slid in the cylinder 1. A molten nonferrous metal such as Al is cast into a cavity 8 to execute die casting. The silicon nitride ceramics or the ceramics consisting of Sialon is used for the cylinder 1 and the bending strength thereof is specified to>=50kg/cm , the density to >=90% of the theoretical density and the thermal impact resistance T of an underwater throwing method to >=300 deg.C in order to improve the resistance to wear and corrosion. The resistance to wear, corrosion and seizure and heat insulating characteristic of the inside peripheral face of the cylinder are improved by the above-mentioned method. The durability of the cylinder 1 and the yield of the product are, therefore, improved.

    • PURPOSE:To execute continuously a sound padding at a low cost by immersing partially an induction heating coil in a molten metal between a flask and a base material, and welding the base material and the molten metal by heating, when forming a padding layer in the periphery of the base material by a tinkering padding method. CONSTITUTION:A padding base material 2 is inserted with a gap into a flask 1 which serves as a forced cooling die lined with graphite 11. A ring-shaped induction heating coil 3 is attached to the periphery of the base material 2, and a molten metal 7 is charged so as to be immersed into a part of the coil 3. The molten metal 7 is quenched and coagulated by the flask 1, but the vicinity of the coil 3 holds a molten state. On the other hand, with regard to the surface of the base material 2, too, a part which is not immersed in the molten metal 7 is heated by the coil 3, and the surface of the base material 2 is heated in the vicinity of a meniscus part 5 of the base material 2 and the molten metal 7, therefore, the base material 2 and the molten metal 7 are welded completely. In this state, a descent of the base material 2 and charging of the molten metal are executed successively, and a padding layer 6 is formed on the surface of the base material 2.
