摘要： A percutaneous surgical device is provided, which comprises a combination wound suturing and crimping and cutting device. In one exemplary embodiment a crimping and cutting device portion nests within a suturing device portion. The combined device may locate a vessel wound and pass suture through the vessel walls surrounding the wound. Then, the crimping and cutting portion may detach, the suturing portion may be removed, and the crimping and cutting portion may be located to the wound site to apply a fastener (e.g., a ferrule).

摘要： Generally stated, the present invention is directed to a liquid light guide for surgical instrumentation, which includes a flexible elongated tube having first and second end portions, first and second light transmissive members disposed at respective first and second end portions of the elongated tube to substantially seal an interior portion of the elongated tube and a light transmissive medium filing the interior portion of the elongated tube. The preferred light transmissive medium comprises a heavy mineral oil having a specific gravity greater than or equal to about 0.86. Preferred light transmissive members are drawn glass rods having polished ends and an index of refraction substantially equal to the transmissive medium. The liquid light guide of the present invention is capable of providing nearly 100% light transmission over the entire visible spectral range while substantially reducing undesired transmission of infrared and ultraviolet radiation. The light guide is contemplated to be used with an endoscope and is cost-effective to manufacture such that the light guide may be disposed of after a single use. Methods of making and using the disposable light guide also are disclosed.

摘要： An intrauterine device for applying force to a wall of a uterus to promote contraception without blocking the fallopian tubes may include an elongate member formed of a resilient material and having a default expanded configuration and a spring portion disposed approximately at a midpoint between two ends of the elongate member. The IUD may also include two tissue contact members, one tissue contact member disposed at one of the two ends of the elongate member and the other tissue contact member disposed at the other end. The tissue contact members may generate a laterally directed force against the wall of the uterus when the intrauterine device assumes its default expanded configuration.

摘要： An intrauterine device for occluding orifices of fallopian tubes includes a resilient body having an elongated member with a first end and a second end. The elongated member further includes a first leg ending with the first end of the elongated member, a second leg ending with the second end of the elongated member and a connection member positioned therebetween.
