摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device which is enhanced in thermal efficiency, capable of obtaining a glossy image of high quality at a high speed and excellent in wear resistance and an image forming device and method using the fixing device. SOLUTION: The fixing device is for heating/pressing an unfixed toner image on a recording medium, to form a fixed toner image and provided with an endless heating belt 1 for carrying the recording medium 4, in a state where the unfixed toner image is held and a heating roll 2 provided to face the end of the endless heating belt 1. This belt 1 is constituted of a heating element, an elastic layer and a wear resistance layer and structured so as to laminate/ integrate these layers. In such a fixing device, the recording medium held on the belt 1 is preliminarily heated, before fixation and then, comes into contact with the heating roll 2, to fix the unfixed toner image on the recording medium, so that an image of high quality can be obtained at a high speed.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a toner which maintains fluidity and has excellent fixing property and to prevent back transfer after fixing by subjecting resin particles having ester groups or mixture resin particles including these particles to ester exchange treatment, then mixing the particles with a coloring agent to flocculate. SOLUTION: Resin particles having ester groups or mixture resin particles comprising the resin above described and other resin are subjected to ester exchange treatment for the surface or particles, and then mixed with a coloring agent to flocculate to obtain the toner. In this process, it is preferable that resin particles having ester groups and -90 to 50 deg.C glass transition temp. prepared by emulsion polymn. are subjected to ester exchange treatment so that the resin of the particle surface is modified to have 50 to 100 deg.C glass transition temp. which is higher than the glass transition temp. of the resin particles. Further, it is preferable to bond charge controlling groups having nitrogen-contg. groups such as amino groups, pyridyl groups, pyrrolidyl groups and quaternary ammonium groups or halogenated alkyl groups such as chloroalkyl groups and fluoroalkyl groups to the surface of the resin particles by the ester exchange treatment.

SOLUTION: A resin higher than that of the interior of the particle in glass transition point is formed on the surface of the particle by providing the ester group on the surface of binder resin particles and ester-interchanging. That is, the resin having the ester group and the surface of the particles composed of the coloring agent are ester-interchanged. A well-known catalyst is used for the ester interchange reaction. Alcohol used for the ester interchange is used to increase the glass transition point of the polymer after interchanging and a lower aliphatic alcohol can be used and concretely ethyl-alcohol, iso-propyl alcohol or tert-butyl alcohol are preferable, particularly iso-propyl alcohol is preferable.
