    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a toner which maintains fluidity and has excellent fixing property and to prevent back transfer after fixing by subjecting resin particles having ester groups or mixture resin particles including these particles to ester exchange treatment, then mixing the particles with a coloring agent to flocculate. SOLUTION: Resin particles having ester groups or mixture resin particles comprising the resin above described and other resin are subjected to ester exchange treatment for the surface or particles, and then mixed with a coloring agent to flocculate to obtain the toner. In this process, it is preferable that resin particles having ester groups and -90 to 50 deg.C glass transition temp. prepared by emulsion polymn. are subjected to ester exchange treatment so that the resin of the particle surface is modified to have 50 to 100 deg.C glass transition temp. which is higher than the glass transition temp. of the resin particles. Further, it is preferable to bond charge controlling groups having nitrogen-contg. groups such as amino groups, pyridyl groups, pyrrolidyl groups and quaternary ammonium groups or halogenated alkyl groups such as chloroalkyl groups and fluoroalkyl groups to the surface of the resin particles by the ester exchange treatment.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier for electrostatic charge image development that suppresses deposition of moisture on the carrier and shows stable charging/resistance for a long period of time and can output an image of high picture quality, and to provide an electrostatic charge image developer using the carrier, an image forming method and an image forming apparatus.
      SOLUTION: The carrier for electrostatic charge image development has a coating resin layer on the surface of a magnetic nucleus particle and is characterized in that the coating resin layer contains carbon black and that the moisture absorption of the carbon black is 1.0 wt.% or less. The electrostatic charge image developer comprises a carrier for electrostatic charge image development and a toner and is characterized in that: the toner comprises toner base particles containing at least a binder resin and a colorant, and an external additive; the external additive shows a moisture absorption of ≥1.0 wt.%; and it is characterized in that the carrier used is the above carrier for electrostatic charge image development.
