摘要： PURPOSE: To obtain a highly heat-insulating pressure medium which is free from cracks or chips by specifying the ratio of components and the properties of zirconia powder respectively, in a powder molding consisting of sodium chloride, zirconia powder and/or partially stabilized zirconia powder. CONSTITUTION: This pressure medium for ultrahigh pressure generation contains sodium chloride, zirconia and/or partially stabilized zirconia as constituent components. For the distribution of zirconia grain size, at least, 30wt.% of the particle ranging from 45 to 150μm in grain diameter is used. In addition, 80 to 150 pts.wt. of zirconia are blended based on 100 pts.wt. of sodium chloride. When thus the distribution of zirconia grain size is optimized and the presence of an appropriate amount of zirconia is allowed, the relative density of the pressure medium is appropriate, and the pressure medium is almost free from cracks or chips. The partially stabilized zirconia used for the pressure medium is a solid solution of Y2 O3 , MgO or CaO dissolved in zirconia. The smaller the grain size of zirconia, the lower will be the density of the pressure medium, so that the cracks or chips tend to generate easily.

摘要： PURPOSE: To increase the heating efficiency of a sample, generate an ultrahigh pressure stably and at the same time, protect a molding die against high temperature by using a powder molding containing sodium chloride and carbon. CONSTITUTION: A powder molding containing sodium chloride and carbon is used as a pressure medium for ultrahigh pressure generation. Preferably, a powder molding containing sodium chloride, carbon, zirconium and/or partially stabilized zirconia is used. Carbon such as carbon black powder improves the heat insulation property of the pressure medium, shuts off a radiation, increases the heating efficiency of a sample and at the same time, inhibits the temperature rise of a molding die. Zirconia and/or partially stabilized zirconia scatter the radiation and thereby, increase further the heating efficiency of the sample. The preferable blending ratio is 97 to 80wt.% of sodium chloride, 3 to 20wt.% of zirconia and 0.1 to 10wt.% of carbon. Thus it is possible to prevent chips or cracks from developing in the molding.
