    • The invention relates to a system for detecting the speed at which a wheel or another rotating body rotates, comprising a sensor module (2) with a sensor element (SE), a controllable power source (Q) with a modulator (5) and a signal processing and evaluation circuit. The modulator (5) controls the power source (Q) according to the signals from the sensor element (SE) and other external signals. It delivers a power signal representing the rotational function with overlapping status or additional signals as an input signal from the sensor module (2). The evaluation circuit of the sensor module (2) comprises at least two different signal processing networks (SC1, SC2), as optimized evaluation circuits or signal processing circuits for at least one partial rotating speed zone which, according to set criteria or conditions, are switched via a control network (7) between the sensor element (SE) and the modulator (5) controlling the power source (Q) and which carry out signal processing. The switch over from one signal processing network (SC1, SC2) to another occurs according to control signals which are independently obtained by the control network (7) from the control of one of said networks (SC1, SC2) or according to control signals which are sent from one signal-receiving external circuit outside the sensor module (2) to the control network (7) via the same signal line (1).
