    • PURPOSE: A method for managing a buffer for transport channel synchronization in a wireless communication system is provided to effective manage data coming within a process-available time window while processing traffic data. CONSTITUTION: It is checked how many buffers are turned on(401). It is checked whether the number of buffers is greater than 0(402). If the number of buffers is greater than 0, it is checked whether one buffer data with a flag ON comes within a window time(403). If one buffer data has come within the window time, the data is transferred to an MDSP(Modulator Digital Signal Processor) and the flog of the corresponding buffer is turned off(404). If one buffer data has not come within the window time, it is checked whether it has come later than a predetermined window time(405). If one buffer data has come later than the predetermined window time, the data is discarded and a flag is turned off(406). If one buffer data has come ahead of the predetermined window time, the data is stored in a corresponding buffer and a flag is maintained in an ON state(407). It is checked whether a value obtained by reducing one buffer is greater than 0(408). It is checked whether there exist data(409). If there is data, it is checked whether the data has come within the pre-set window time(410). If the data has come within the window time, the data is transferred to the MDSP(411). If the data has not come within the window time, a TA(Timing Adjustment) message is transferred to a traffic processor(412). It is checked whether certain data comes later than the pre-set window time(413). If the data has come later than the pre-set window time, the data is discarded(414). If the data has come ahead of the window time, the data is stored in an empty buffer and a flag is maintained to be ON(415).

CONSTITUTION: The second duplex board(20) connects with the first duplex board(10) through communication channels(42,43). A cell bus(30) having a multicasting function is a communication bus between the first or second duplex board(10,20) and another board. The first and second duplex boards(10,20) generate signals for switching active and standby states by a state value decided by their hardware abnormal state and state control signals capable of being controlled in software, and a state value of an object board.

    • PURPOSE: A clock group monitoring and selecting circuit is provided to simultaneously receive two clock groups from external clock boards, and to monitor whether the two clock groups are normal, then to supply a normal clock group to a modem, thereby stabilizing clocks distributed to the system modem. CONSTITUTION: The first and second clock receivers(110,120) receive the first and second clock groups consisting of many clocks from external clock boards. The first and second clock monitors(210,220) check states of the received first and second clock groups, respectively, and output result signals. A clock selector(300) selects the received first and second clock groups according to outputted state monitor information of the first and second clock groups, and outputs the selected clock groups. The first and second clock monitors(210,220) include retriggerable monostable multi-vibrators as many as the number of clocks included in the first and second clock groups. The retriggerable monostable multi-vibrators monitor the clock groups, and generate high-level signals if the clock groups are not inputted, then generate low-level signals if the groups are inputted.
