    • A first satellite (210(1)) and a second satellite (210(2)) are configured to be disposed together, in a launch configuration, for launch by a single launch vehicle. The launch vehicle includes a primary payload adapter (225) and the first satellite includes a secondary payload adapter (215). In the launch configuration, the first satellite is mechanically coupled with the primary payload adapter and the second satellite is mechanically coupled with the secondary payload adapter. Following injection into a first orbit by the launch vehicle, the first satellite separates from the primary payload adapter while the second satellite is mechanically coupled with the secondary payload adapter. The second satellite is detached from the secondary payload adapter of the first satellite only after an orbit transfer maneuver executed by a propulsions system of the first satellite. In the launch configuration, the mass of the second satellite is at least 30% of the mass of the first satellite.

    • This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus related to an electronic stylus, the stylus having a manual user interface and including a nib and an ultrasonic transmitter configured to transmit an ultrasonic signal. The manual user interface includes one or both of: (i) a removable cap, wherein installing the cap covers the nib and switches the ultrasonic transmitter to a power down mode and removing the cap exposes the nib and switches the ultrasonic transmitter to a power up mode; and (ii) an actuator configured to switch the stylus between a first mode and a second mode, wherein, in the first mode, the nib is in an exposed position and the ultrasonic transmitter is switched to the power up mode; and, in the second mode, the nib is in a covered position and the ultrasonic transmitter is switched to the power down mode.

    • An apparatus includes an array of pixels, each pixel including in-cell pixel logic and a piezoelectric micromechanical ultrasonic transducer (PMUT) element, each in-cell pixel logic being communicatively coupled with at least one adjacent pixel in the array. Transceiver electronics may operate the array in a selectable one of a first mode and a second mode. In the first mode, the array may generate a substantially plane ultrasonic wave. In the second mode, the array may generate, from at least one superpixel region, a focused beam of relatively high acoustic pressure, each superpixel region including at least one inner pixel disposed in a central portion of the superpixel region and at least a first group of outer pixels disposed in an outer portion of the superpixel region. The transceiver electronics may be configured to operate the array by configuring at least one in-cell pixel logic.

    • An array of piezoelectric ultrasonic transducer elements includes a plurality of superpixel regions. Each superpixel region includes at least two pixel sets, a first pixel set of the at least two pixel sets being disposed in a central portion of the superpixel region, and at least a second pixel set being disposed in an outer portion of the superpixel region. An electrical coupling may be provided between the array and transceiver electronics. The transceiver electronics may be configured to operate the array in a selectable one of a first mode and a second mode. In the first mode, the array generates a substantially plane ultrasonic wave having a first acoustic pressure. In the second mode, the array generates, from each superpixel region, a focused beam having a second acoustic pressure that is substantially higher than the first acoustic pressure.
