    • PURPOSE: To efficiently obtain an inorganic fiber having uniform fiber diameter by rotating a rotating disc in which many grooves having V-shaped cross section are formed at a definite temperature at a high speed, feeding a melted inorganic raw material to the groove parts, making the raw material flow from the outer periphery of a rotating disc, bringing the raw material into contact with flame and drawing the raw material. CONSTITUTION: The groove part of a rotating disc 1 in which many grooves having V-shaped cross section with 0.3-3mm width and 0.3-3mm depth along the diameter direction in the circumferential direction are formed in the upper periphery so as to become 5-25mm width is heated to a temperature lower by 10-300 deg.C than molten inorganic raw material flow 21 and rotated at a high speed of >=5000rpm. The molten inorganic raw material 11 is continuously fed onto the groove of the rotating disc 1 and divided by the groove and a fibrous inorganic raw material flow 18 is made to flow from the outer periphery of the rotating disc 1 to the outside by centrifugal force. The fibrous inorganic raw material flow 18 is brought into contact with flames 16 and 17 of the first burner 6 and the second burner 17 and heated and further drawn during flowing down and made fine to provide the objective inorganic short fiber.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain inorg. short fibers having a uniform diameter by supplying a molten inorg. material current to a rotary disk having many grooves and allowing the fibrous material current to flow down outside the disk. CONSTITUTION:An annular groove part consisting of many grooves having a V-shaped section, arranged at an inclination of 1 to 45 deg. to the rotating direction from the radial direction of a rotary disk 1 at an interval of 0.5 to 5.0mm and having 0.3 to 3.0mm depth is formed in 5 to 25mm width on the peripheral part of the upper face of the disk 1 made of a heat-resistant material and 1 integrated with a rotating shaft 4 is rotated at 4,000 to 10,000 r.p.m., the groove part is heated to a temp. lower than that of the molten glass current from a melting furnace 10 by 10 to 300 deg.C, the molten glass 11 is supplied on the upper face of the disk 11, the glass material current is provided with a resistance opposite to the centrifugal force, the fibrous inorg. material current 20 is allowed to flow down outside the disk 1 from the peripheral edge, brought into contact with a flame 17, heated, drawn and made slender, and a short glass fiber is obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To produce uniform glass fiber in high efficiency at a low cost. CONSTITUTION:A ring-shaped ridge 3 is protruded from the outer circumferential edge of a rotary disk 1. A number of V-shaped grooves extending from the circumferential part of the main body of the rotary disk 1 via the inner circumference of the ridge 3 to the upper surface of the ridge 3 are formed in radial direction. The rotary disk 1 is rotated at a high speed while keeping the circumferential edge at a high temperature. A molten inorganic raw material 22 is continuously supplied to the upper surface of the rotary disk 1 rotating at a high speed and allowed to flow our by the centrifugal force through V-shaped grooves 4c formed on the upper face of the ridge 3. A fibrous inorganic raw material 19 is flowed down from the outer circumferential edge of the rotary disk 1 by this process. The fibrous inorganic raw material flow 19 is heated by contacting with a flame 18 and a further drawn in the course of flowing down to obtain long extended fibers.
