Envelope or bag blanks are first held on a cutter roller 9 (Fig. 1), by suction applied to ports 101, 11 1 , 12 1 within several closed window cutting knives 10, 11, 12, and the portions cut away (by co-operation of a counter roller) are subsequently ejected by air blown from the ports. The timing of the supply of suction and pressure can be varied for each knife independently, e.g. by rotary valves 30 1 , 31 1 , 32 1 leading to the supply of suction and pressure. The position of a guide on the cutting roller for the leading edges of the blanks can be varied. The guide may comprise a blade 49 (Fig. 6, not shown), or a row of ports 38 (Fig. 1), alternately fed with suction and with pressure and carried by a sleeve 18 which can be adjusted about the circumference of the roller 9. The positions of the knives on the roller 9 are adjustable.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of inspecting an inferior due to punch-out chaff using a reflective sensor even in a case that a pattern is printed on a blank produced by blank processing or a film etc. is laminated on a punched-out hole formed in the blank.
      SOLUTION: The punch-out chaff inspection device 1 includes a color sensor 10 which outputs a predetermined ON signal when a coincidence degree between a color of a detected object and a registered color is within an allowable value, a color plate 11 of a color same as a registered color of the color sensor 10, and a control equipment 12 determining that a punch-out chaff 23 adheres to a punched-out hole 20 when a time for outputting the ON signal by the color sensor 10 during passage of a blank 2 between the color sensor 10 and the color plate 11 is measured and the measured time is shorter than a time previously set depending on a length in a moving direction of the punched-out hole 20.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for punching parts to be punched, such as slave holes, of sheet-like materials in the state that a large number of them released from a mold are stacked, without causing any punch droop or damage to punched holes. SOLUTION: At least two positioning locators 28 are used which are detachably set on a punching table 16 having a punched tailings drop hole 14 penetrated therethrough and which are provided with a vibration plate 32 on the side contacting with the side face of sheet-like materials 30 released from a mold and placed on the punching table in a stacked state. After pressing the side faces of the stacked sheet-like materials against the two locators and arranging upper and lower parts to be punched of the stacked sheet-like materials so as to be correctly registered, a punch 22 is perpendicularly moved downtoward the punched tailings drop hole from above the punching table and punches the parts to be punched of the sheet-like materials released from the mold. By this method, even in the case where a large number of sheet-like materials are stacked, parts to be punched, such as slave holes, can be easily punched with a weak force without causing any punch droop or damage to punched holes.
