摘要： A pedal assembly (10) having a housing (12) and a pedal arm (14) pivotally connected to the housing (12) for movement between a rest position and an operative position. A pair of springs (38, 40) are mounted within the housing (12). The springs (38, 40) have first distal ends (42, 46) seated against the housing (12) and second distal ends (44, 48) engaging a second end (20) of the pedal arm (14) to provide resistance during the movement of the pedal arm (14). A cap (60) is disposed over the second end (20) of the pedal arm (14). The pedal assembly (10) is characterized by the cap (60) including a first portion (62) and a second portion (64) with the second distal ends (44, 48) of the springs (38, 40) engaging the cap (60). The second portion (64) of the cap (60) is movable relative to the first portion (62) of the cap (60) when the pedal arm (14) moves between the rest and operative positions such that the first (62) and second (64) portions engage an inner surface (28) of the housing (12) to provide increased resistance during the movement of the pedal arm (14).

The pedal pad assembly includes an outer housing that has a cavity, an inner housing that has an outer surface and is slidably received within the cavity of the outer housing, a pedal pad coupled to the inner housing and is configured to translate the inner housing along a movement axis in response to a load applied to the pedal pad and a sensor assembly that includes a plurality of target members coupled to the outer surface of the inner housing and a sensor configured to sense a position of at least one target member. During a translation of the inner housing along the movement axis, at least one target member of the plurality of target members moves with the inner housing from a first position to a second position indicative of the movement of the inner housing within the cavity.

摘要： In order to simplify the switching of medical or surgical equipment in an operating theatre, there is proposed a switching device for medical or surgical equipment which is characterized by a planar floor mat having sensors distributed over the surface area thereof, said sensors producing an electrical signal corresponding to the position of a foot of an operator on the floor mat when the foot is located near the respective sensor, and by a data processing system which is connected to the floor mat and is programmed in such a manner that it stores the instantaneous position of the foot on the floor mat as a starting position when activated by an activating signal, selects at least one switching area of the floor mat which has a predetermined location relative to the starting position, and produces a switching signal when the foot is located near a sensor in the switching area.
