摘要： This spot-type disc brake for vehicles has a fixed carrier extended over a brake disc, brake shoes slidably mounted on the carrier and a slidable frame having sides which engage slots in the carrier to transmit the actuating force from an actuating cylinder and brake shoe on one side of the disc to the brake shoe on the other side of the disc. The guide surfaces on the carrier are curved about an axis normal to the plane of the frame to reduce the contact area between the frame and the carrier and allow limited tilting of the frame.

摘要： A spot disc brake having support means defining a fixed closed loop member substantially about a chordal portion of a rotatable disc, and a cylinder portion slidably anchored on said closed loop memer adjacent one side of said disc and including a caliper portion extending over said disc chordal portion and slidably anchored on said closed loop member adjacent to the other side of said disc for moving a pair of opposed friction members into frictional engagement with said one and other sides of said disc at the chordal portion thereof. At least one of the friction members is provided with anchoring extensions embracing the caliper for transmitting braking torque thereto, and each anchoring extension having a supporting portion for engagement with the loop member to oppose deflection thereof.

摘要： This invention relates to improvements in and relating to a disc brake assembly of the spot-acting type, especially for use with a powered vehicle such as automotive vehicle. More specifically, the invention relates to such a type of automotive brake unit, wherein a stationary brake cylinder having a pair of opposedly acting hydraulic pistons is positioned at one side of a rotatable brake disc and a movable plate is arranged as straddling said plate in a direction parallel to the axis of said disc when actuated upon by an indirectly acting type one of said pistons, while the other directly acting type piston is also being actuated. The improvement resides in such that said movable plate is mounted at its one end by at least two support lugs formed diametrally opposite to each other on said indirectly acting piston and suspendedly mounted from U-shaped guide pins mounted in turn on a body member of said brake unit, for load distribution and the like purposes.

The improvement resides in the separation of caliper supporting means from the sliding means relative thereto, so as to avoid any off-axial heavily wearing movement of the caliper actuating piston relative to said cylinder body.
