摘要： A method for coating a tile element includes providing a tile element made of a compressed fibre material having a porosity in the range of 0.92-0.99 and applying a water-based coating material to a side edge surface of the tile element extending between two opposite major surfaces of the tile element. The applying is performed by an applicator head of a continuous vacuum coating apparatus that applies the water-based coating material to the side edge surface of the tile element and removes excess through a vacuum. The water-based coating material is applied at a feeding rate of the tile element relative the applicator head in the range of 25-150 m/min. The water-based coating material forms a coating layer including an outer coating layer and an inner coating layer penetrating the side edge surface. The inner coating layer has penetration depth of at least 100 μm.

摘要： A method for curing photosensitive polyimide (PSPI) films includes the steps of: depositing a PSPI film on a selected substrate, and curing the film by microwave heating at a selected temperature from about 200 to 340° C. in a selected atmosphere containing an oxygen concentration from about 20 to 200,000 ppm. The process atmosphere may be static or flowing. The addition of oxygen improves the removal of acrylate residue and improves the Tg of the cured film, while the low processing temperature characteristic of the microwave process prevents the oxygen from damaging the polyimide backbone. The method may further include the steps of photopatterning and developing the PSPI film prior to curing. The process is particularly suitable for dielectric films on silicon for electronic applications.

摘要： The present invention pertains to a process for coating a substrate comprising the steps of providing a substrate the outer layer of which comprises an electroheat-susceptible material of applying a powder coating composition onto the substrate curing the powder coating composition using electroheat radiation. The electroheat-susceptible material may be a microwave-susceptible material with the curing being effected using microwave radiation. It may also be a radio frequency-susceptible material, in which case the curing is effected using radio frequency radiation. The substrate may be provided with an outer layer which comprises an electroheat-susceptible material by contacting the substrate with a primer comprising an electroheat-susceptible material or by coating the inside of a mould with a primer layer, filling the mould with a curable resin that will form the substrate, curing the resin, and releasing the substrate the outer layer of which comprises an electroheat-susceptible material from the mould. The process is particular suitable for coating heat-sensitive substrates, where it will allow electroheat curing of conventional powder coating compositions.

摘要： Rapid curing of polymer layers on semiconductor substrates is facilitated using variable frequency microwave energy. A semiconductor substrate having a polymer layer thereon is placed in a microwave furnace cavity, and then swept with a range of microwave frequencies. The range of frequencies includes a central frequency selected to rapidly heat the polymer layer. The range of frequencies is selected to generate a plurality of modes within the cavity. The sweep rate is selected so as to avoid damage to the semiconductor substrate and/or any components thereon. The microwave power may be adjusted during frequency sweeping to control the temperature of the polymer layer and the semiconductor substrate. Effluent produced during the curing of the polymer layer may be removed from the furnace cavity. The extent of cure of the polymer layer may be determined by detecting power reflection for each microwave frequency within the range to provide power reflection data, and then comparing the power reflection data with a predetermined set of power reflection data.

摘要： A process for curing a normally air-inhibited, thermosetting resinous reaction product comprising exposing a film or coat of the resin while overlying a substrate to high-energy radiation to cure at least a depthwise segment of the film that is contiguous to the substrate to provide a nontacky, mar-resistant undersurface to the film, then inverting the film on a substrate, and again exposing the inverted film to high energy radiation or to heat. Electron emission, microwaves, ultraviolet light, and the like may be used as the high-energy radiation. As a modification, the resin film or coat may be stretched prior to completing the second exposure. As a further modification, the resin film may be laminated to a substrate during the second exposure, preferably with an adhesive curable by exposure to such high energy radiation.
