SOLUTION: The system includes a plurality of implants of different sizes. A stem 46 for the hip joint is conceivable as an implant. A recorder 20 is engaged with each of the implants at respective predetermined relative positions. The recorder 20 also includes at least one standard element 34 recordable in the computerized navigation system. A second standard structure 64 having at least one standard element 34 recordable in the computerized navigation system is removably attached to an implant. Since the relative position of the recorder 20 to the second standard element 34 provided at the second standard structure 64 differs according to each of the implants, the navigation system can determine the nominal size of each of the implants.
