    • Provided is a display apparatus which can easily bond a drive panel (10) and a sealing panel (20) together. The drive panel (10) includes organic electroluminescence devices (10R), (10G) and (10B) on a substrate for drive (11) and extracts light from the side of the organic electroluminescence devices (10R), (10G) and (10B). The sealing panel (20) includes a color filter (22) on a substrate for sealing (21). The drive panel (10) and the sealing panel (20) are disposed to face each other, and the whole facing surfaces of the drive panel (10) and the sealing panel (20) are bonded together with an adhesive layer (30). The adhesive layer (30) is cured with at least heat, and is made of only one coating liquid or a combination of two or more coating liquids for curing. A temporary fixing portion (30A) is formed in an edge portion of the adhesive layer (30). The temporary fixing portion (30A) is made of, for example, an ultraviolet cure resin, and is formed so as to straddle between the sealing panel (20) and the drive panel to align their relative positions.

    • A method of manufacturing a display unit capable of manufacturing a large-screen display unit with high display quality without upsizing manufacturing facilities is provided. Device substrates on which a pixel including the organic light-emitting devices is formed are aligned on the same plane so as to face a sealing substrate. While the device substrates and the sealing substrate are bonded together with an adhesive resin for sealing in between, the adhesive resin for sealing is extruded from a seam portion to the backside of the seam portion so as to fill the seam portion with the adhesive resin for sealing. The backside of the seam portion can be securely sealed through a simple step. The method is suitable for a large-scale display unit using top-emitting organic light-emitting devices. A back sealing member may be disposed on the backside of the seam portion with the extruded adhesive resin for sealing in between. After that, the adhesive resin for sealing is cured.

    • The invention provides a display unit which can improve emission efficiency of lights for image display, and assure luminance of display images. The display unit comprises micro prisms which are arranged in the positions corresponding to organic EL devices, and which have a high refraction index to refract a light, and auxiliary prisms with a low refraction index which are embedded in voids between each micro prism. A light volume of the light viewed as an image in the direction facing an organic EL display (facing direction) is a total of a light volume of a light essentially emitted from the organic EL device in the facing direction, and lights which are directed in the facing direction by utilizing refraction phenomenon based on differences of refraction index between the micro prism and the auxiliary prism. Compared to the case wherein the micro prisms and the auxiliary prisms are not provided, an emission volume of the light in the facing direction is increased by the light volumes of the lights.
