    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner allowing easy one-handed uninstallation of a dust collection cup from a cleaner body while simplifying a configuration, and more certainly preventing an air leak.SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner includes cup clamps 67, 75 locking the dust collection cup 26 to the cleaner body. The cleaner body includes a body suction port positioned in front of an installation part. The cleaner body is positioned in the rear of the installation part, and includes a vent opening communicating with a suction side of an electric blower. The dust collection cup 26 includes a handle 78 positioned at the upper part of a cup body 73, journalled turnably in the right and left of the cup body 73 to turn between a storage state and a use state, stored on the cup body 73 side in the storage state, and projecting from the cup body 73 side and releasing the locking by the cup clamps 67, 75 in the use state. The cup clamps 67, 75 are respectively positioned close to the suction port and an exhaust port 102 of the dust collection cup 26 in a state in which the cup clamps are installed to the installation part.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain dust attaching on a protection light guiding body of a dust detecting means which optically detects the volume of dust passing.SOLUTION: An electric vacuum cleaner is provided on a body connecting port 12 of a vacuum cleaner body with a dust detecting device 42 equipped with a light emitting element 34 and a light receiving element 35 that optically detect the volume of dust passing through a pathway 38.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner adapted to secure air tightness between a dust collecting cup and a cleaner body while a detachable dust collecting cup is mounted to the cleaner body.SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner has a front side cup clamp 67 for locking the dust collecting cup to the cleaner body. The cleaner body includes a body suction hole 64 positioned in front of a mounting portion. The cleaner body includes a release button 132 positioned in back of the mounting portion and operated to remove the dust collecting cup mounted to the mounting portion. The dust collecting cup includes a suction hole 85 communicating with the body suction hole 64 while being mounted to the mounting portion. The vacuum cleaner has a power transmitting portion 133 at least partially disposed at the dust collecting cup, transmitting the operation of the release button 132 to the front side cup clamp 67, and releasing the locking by the front side cup clamp 67. The front side cup clamp 67 is positioned in the vicinity of the body suction hole 64 and the suction hole 85 while the dust collecting cup is mounted to the mounting portion.
