    • A liquid jet recording head comprises a first substrate having a plurality of discharge energy generating devices formed thereon, and a second substrate having a discharge opening plate provided with a plurality of discharge openings for discharging ink, and recessed portions becoming ink flow paths conductively connected with said discharge openings, and a common liquid chamber for retaining ink to be supplied to each of said discharge openings, respectively. The ink flow paths and common liquid chamber are formed by joining the first substrate and second substrate with the discharge energy generating devices of the first substrate facing the recessed portions becoming ink flow paths of the second substrate, at the same time, the joint between the first substrate and second substrate being sealed by sealing compound, and fine grains inclusively residing on the joint between the first substrate and second substrate. With the liquid jet recording head thus structured, there is no possibility that sealing compound flows into the ink flow paths and discharge openings even if the joint between the first and second substrates are sealed by sealing compound, and that any defective prints take place. The production yield in the sealing step of manufacture is increased, at the same time, the controlling burden is lightened.

    • An ink jet head includes an elongated ink supply port extending in a longitudinal direction and a plurality of head groups arranged in a transverse direction crossing with the longitudinal direction. A first array of ink ejection outlets is disposed along one lateral side of an ink supply port, and second and third arrays of ink ejection outlets are disposed along the other lateral side of the ink supply port, wherein widths L2, measured in the longitudinal direction, of partition walls for the first array of the ink ejection outlets are larger than widths L1, measured in the longitudinal direction, of partition walls of the second and third arrays of the ink ejection outlets. The ink jet head further includes a sealing tape for protecting the ejection outlets, the sealing tape being peelable in a direction from the second or third array toward the first array.

    • There is provided a method of manufacturing a liquid discharge head having a substrate including energy generating elements, and a discharge port member which is provided with discharge ports and is joined to the substrate, thereby forming liquid flow paths communicating with the discharge ports. The method performs in this order: preparing a conductive base on which a first insulating resist and a second insulating resist for forming the discharge ports are stacked in this order; performing plating using the first resist and the second resist as masks, and forming a first plated layer; removing the second resist; performing plating on the base using the first resist as a mask, thereby forming a second plated layer so as to cover the first plated layer; removing the base and the first resist, thereby forming the discharge port member; and joining together the substrate and the discharge port member.

The warming resistors include a first warming resistor disposed at the first ejection outlet array portion with a larger ejection amount and a second warming heat generating resistor disposed at the second ejection outlet array portion with a smaller ejection amount.

Edges of the first groove have sawtooth shape with a number of very small notches and edges of the second groove are substantially straight.
