摘要： When an internal combustion engine including a plurality of cylinders is operating steadily, an index value relating to an actual hydrogen content in exhaust gas downstream of a portion where exhaust passages from the cylinders merge, and upstream of a catalyst is detected. When an index value relating to the actual hydrogen content in the exhaust gas is larger than a determination index value relating to a hydrogen content corresponding to a permissible limit of air-fuel ratio variation, it is determined that there is abnormal air-fuel ratio variation between the cylinders.

摘要： The present invention provides a hydrogenation catalyst precursor which does not bring about a problem of environmental pollution involved in copper-chromium catalysts and has a high activity, a high durability and a high selectivity as compared with those of conventional copper-iron-aluminum catalysts, a hydrogenation catalyst obtained by reducing the same, and a production process for alcohols using the above hydrogenation catalyst. The hydrogenation catalyst precursor described above comprises copper, iron and aluminum and containing as a principal component a compound oxide of copper, iron and aluminum in which an atomic ratio Cu:Fe:Al is 1:(0.02 to 0.4):(1.0 to 4.0) and which has a copper-aluminum spinel structure.

摘要： In a recording apparatus, an ink sheet and recording medium are conveyed, the ink sheet is activated to perform image recording on the recording medium, the conveying state of the ink sheet is detected, and the conveying amount of the ink sheet is adjusted in accordance with the detected information regarding the conveying state of the ink sheet. This adjustment prevents the adhesion of the recording medium and ink sheet, thereby eliminating image omissions and density irregularities in the recording. Preventing adhesion of the recording medium and ink sheet results in improved image recording quality, and also helps to reduce trouble resulting from the ink sheet or recording medium being cut off.

摘要： An inter-cylinder air-fuel ratio imbalance determination apparatus (determination apparatus) according to the present invention obtains, based on the output value of the air-fuel ratio sensor, an imbalance determination parameter which becomes larger as an air-fuel ratio fluctuation of an exhaust gas passing through a position at which the air-fuel ratio sensor is disposed becomes larger, during a parameter obtaining period. The determination apparatus energizes the heater of the air-fuel ratio sensor in such a manner that a temperature of the air-fuel ratio element during the parameter obtaining period is higher than a temperature of the air-fuel ratio element during a period other than the parameter obtaining period. Accordingly, the imbalance determination parameter is obtained while the responsiveness of the air-fuel ratio sensor is high, and thus, the inter-cylinder air-fuel-ratio imbalance determination having a high accuracy can be made.
