    • A digital still camera includes a lens assembly having a photographing lens and an image pickup device. A camera body supports the lens assembly. Bayonet lugs as lens mount mechanism couple the lens assembly with the camera body. A retaining mechanism supports the bayonet lugs on the camera body in a slidable manner in a predetermined direction that is crosswise to an optical axis of the photographing lens during connection with the lens assembly, to adjust positioning of the lens assembly in the predetermined direction. In one embodiment, a lens support plate has the bayonet lugs, and is supported on the camera body by the retaining mechanism in a slidable manner. The retaining mechanism includes a rail edge formed with a front of the camera body. An engageable claw is formed with the lens support plate, and received in the rail edge movably in the predetermined direction.

    • There is provided a high pressure fuel pump which includes a reliable fuel seal having a long durability and which can be produced at a relatively low cost. When a rotating shaft 4 is rotated to rotate a swash plate 7, such rotation is transmitted to a piston shoe guide plate 8 through a thrust ball bearing 9. Since the plate 8 is supported by a spherical portion 16 of a rod 14 mounted to a body 12, the plate 8 performs a precession to recurrently operate a plurality of fuel pumps 21 to 25 disposed around the rod 14. Each of the fuel pumps 21 to 25 includes a bellows provided between an outer end of the piston and the body 12, and the bellows completely seals a fuel leaked from a sliding clearance between the piston and the cylinder. Since the leaked fuel is introduced into a return passage 19 through a groove formed in an outer wall of the cylinder, a large internal pressure is not applied to the bellows and therefore, the bellows can be made of a low-priced material such as Teflon.

    • In a computer network system having client and server computers (26,27), an access right check requesting section (28) of the client computer supplies a user certification datum to a access right checking section (32) of the server computer. The access right checking section (32) checks a name of a user and a password of the user certification datum with predetermined held names of users and predetermined held passwords to produce and supply a certification result datum to a client certification result holding section (29) of the client computer when the name of the user coincides with the one of predetermined held names of the users and when the password coincides with the one of predetermined held passwords. A process requesting section (30) compares the certification result datum of the client certification result holding section (29) with the user certification datum which is supplied with a process requesting command having the user certification datum. The process requesting section supplies the process requesting command to the server computer when the certification result datum coincides with the user certification datum.

    • A pedal side drive mechanism which is rotatable relative to a throttle shaft in both opening and closing directions is provided at one end of the throttle shaft. The throttle shaft opens and closes a throttle valve. A motor side drive mechanism, which is rotatable relative to the throttle shaft in both opening and closing directions, is provided at the other end of the throttle shaft. The pedal side drive mechanism and the motor side drive mechanism are able to be driven independently without interfering with each other, in both of the opening and closing directions of the throttle shaft. Accordingly, driving of the throttle can be performed using either the accelerator pedal or the motor, and functions including fail-safe measures or a limp home mode can be accomplished using a simple structure.
