    • PURPOSE: To prevent generation of gear noise and shift lock by making a gear train of an astern stage of a constant engagement type and connecting it by a speed change stage selection device with a synchronizer on a twin clutch type speed changer changing speed by way of changing a power transmission route by means of furnishing two pieces of clutches. CONSTITUTION: First and third speed stage drive gears I1 , I3 are fastened on an output shaft J1 of one of two pieces of clutches C1, C2 connected to a speed changer input shaft Ji, and second and fourth speed stage drive gears I2 , I4 and an astern stage drive gear IR are fastened on the other output shaft J2. Subsequently, each of driven gears O1 -O4 constantly engaged with each of the drive gears I1 -I4 is arranged on a speed changer output shaft Jo, and it is selectively engaged. Additionally, two intermediate gears M1, M2 constantly engaged with each of the gears IR, O1 are arranged on a countershaft Jm in parallel with the input and output shafts. Thereafter, speed change without gear noise and shift lock is realized by having a speed change stage selection device with a synchronizer carry out each selective connection.

    • PURPOSE:To enable forward four shift steps containing an overdtrive step without changeover of input to be set by providing two sets of single pinion type planetary gear mechanisms, and providing such a means for making their carries in a commonly usable one and also arranging a plurality of frictional engaging elements and the like. CONSTITUTION:Two set of single pinion type planetary gear mechanisms 11, 21 are provided, and these are constituted by setting engaged state of respective pinion gears P11, P21 between respective sun gears S11, S21 and respective ring gear R11, R21. A carrier C1 for holding the respective pinion gears P11, P21 is commonly used in both planetary gear mechanisms 11, 21, and a drive gear 31 is connected to the carrier C1. Meanwhile, first and second clutches K11, K21 are respectively arranged between an input shaft 41 and the respective sun gear S11, S21. Further, a direct-coupled clutch K01 and a direct-coupled one way clutch F01 making engagement when the first sun gear S11 is apt to rotate quicker than the input shaft 41 are arranged in series between the first sun gear S11 and the input shaft 41.

    • PURPOSE:To simplify constitution of a planetary gear mechanism on the auxiliary shaft side and to simplify constitution of not only a gear shift device but also the whole of automatic transmission by a method wherein a rotation direction in which a reverse speed is set is reversed a planetary gear mechanism on the main shaft side to which torque is inputted. CONSTITUTION:A gear shifting device is provided with three clutch means K1, K2, and K3 and three brake means B1, B2, and B3. Through engagement of two frictional engaging devices thereof, a five forward one reverse speed is set. Since three in a number suffice for clutch means the whole of which is rotated, a necessary space containing a hydraulic servo mechanism to drive the frictional engaging device is reduced and size is reduced as a whole. By arranging clutch means K1 and K2 and brake means B1 and B2 to a planetary gear mechanism 1 on the main shaft 3 side, a rotation direction for a reverse speed on the main shaft 3 side can be reversed, resulting in simplification of constitution of the auxiliary shaft 4 side.
