摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain the subject filament yarn having a specific boiling water shrinkage and essentially free from crimps by deforming the cross section of a fiber by a twisting and untwisting method and mixing the obtained fibers having different cross-sectional shape. CONSTITUTION:The objective filament yarn containing fibers having a W/H ratio of 1-2.5 (maximum value is >=1.4) (W and H are diameters of the major and minor axes, respectively) and varying within 1-2.5 in the longitudinal direction of the same filament, essentially free from crimps and having a boiling water shrinkage of 6-25% can be produced by drawing and false-twisting an undrawn polyester yarn containing preferably 1.0-3wt.% of kaolin at 70-150 deg.C under a twist coefficient of 20,000-35,000 defined by formula (D is denier after the drawing and false twisting; T is false-twisting number/m) at a draw ratio of 0.5-0.65 times the maximum draw ratio of the undrawn yarn at 70-110 deg.C and drawing the drawn and false-twisted yarn under a condition to obtain a final drawn yarn having an elongation of 15-35%.
