摘要： The present invention relates to mammalian anthrax toxin receptor polypeptides and polynucleotides encoding same as well as related polypeptides and polynucleotides, vectors containing the polynucleotides and polypeptides, host cells containing related polynucleotide molecules, and cells displaying no anthrax toxin receptor on an exterior surface of the cells—minus cell lines and animals. The present invention also relates to methods for identifying molecules that bind the anthrax toxin receptor and molecules that reduce the toxicity of anthrax toxin. Finally, the present invention provides methods for treating human and non-human animals suffering from anthrax.

摘要： A surgical system that includes a surgical device comprising a tube having a first lumen and an opening disposed at a distal end thereof, the tube movable between a rear position and a forward position. A retractor comprising a shaft, a working head at a distal end of the shaft defining a working space, and at least one manipulator disposed within the working space. The retractor is releasably engagable with the surgical device, such that, when the retractor is engaged with the surgical device and the shaft is in the rear position, the tube is disposed at a location proximal to the at least one manipulator, and when the retractor is engaged with the surgical device and the tube is in the forward position the tube is disposed beneath at least one manipulator.

摘要： Load management apparatus constituting a direct replacement for a conventional molded case circuit breaker consists of half-inch wide switching and management modules connected in series between an electrical load and its energizing source. The switching module is a conventional circuit breaker and the management module includes a normally closed electromagnetic contactor provided with a permanent magnet latch which holds the contactor in open position. Remotely generated signals are utilized to selectively energize the main operating coil which opens the contactor and to selectively energizing the bucking coil which releases the magnetic latch.
