    • PURPOSE:To provide a non-disturbed gravel core having excellent quality readily from frozen blocks by freezing a gravel sample which is sampled at normal temperature. CONSTITUTION:A frozen block is conveyed out of a refrigerating room and set on a base stage 15 of a boring machine 11. Then, a circulating pump 25 is driven, and a solenoid valve 23 is controlled. Liquid coolant which is used in a machine 11 is kept at low temperature of about -10 deg.C - -20 deg.C all the time during boring. The required number of samples having the specified diameters for the machine 11 are taken out. The boring cores are covered with Saranwrap immediately after the pulling out. The cores are inputted into a constant- temperature/constant-moisture tank and stored at -20 deg.C. Then, the core is cut into the specified lengths with a core cutter. At this time, the low-temperature liquid coolant which is used in the machine 11 is made to flow to the cut parts so as to prevent the temperature rise at the cores which are being cut. When the cutting is finished, the cores are immediately inputted into the constant-temperature/constant-moisture tank and stored at 20 deg.C. Then, the frozen bodies under test are taken out of the constant-temperature/constant-moisture tank and set on a three-axis cell. After constraining pressure is applied, thawing is performed. Then, the test is conducted in accordance with a general three-axis compressing test method.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent a sand-like foundation from being fluidized, by arranging injecting means and draining means in a foundation around a structure building so that a liquid mixed with a slight quantity of air-bubbles is charged under pressure from the top ends of the injecting means while underground water is drained. CONSTITUTION:An innumerous number of small blind air-permeable holes are formed in side walls and block plates which block the front ends of an injection pipes 3. Then, an air-bubble mixing device 4 is composed of a closed pressure container 10, a compressor 11, a means for feeding water 12 into the container 10 and an agitator 13. Further, the injection pipes 3 are intruded into a sand-like foundation having a condition nearly equal to a substantially complete saturation, perpendicularly thereto, surrounding around a building 2 and well points 5 are also intruded thereinto. Liquid mixed with air-bubbles produced from the air-bubble mixing unit is charged under pressure from the top ends of the injection pipes 3, and underground water is drained from the well points 5. With this arrangement it is possible to promptly and simply inject air-bubbles into the foundation, thereby a rise of the foundation caused by an increase in underground water and the like can be restrained.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce term of works and construction cost by a method wherein in a construction work in which a tunnel the size of which is partially increased is continuously excavated, a slave shield machine capable of being mounted and demounted to and from the interior of a parent shield machine and movable forward and backward along an axis is used in common. CONSTITUTION:During a construction work for a tunnel for a subway in which a large station part P and a small railroad track part R are continuously excavated, two parent and slave shield machines 12 and 13 are moved forward in an integrally formed state from a starting vertical shaft 21 as a ground is excavated by means of cutters 16 and 17. The large station part P is then formed, and consecutively the parent and slave shield machines 12 and 13 are released from coupling and only the slave shield machine 13 is moved forward to continuously form the small railroad track part R. This method eliminates the need to excavate a starting vertical shaft again at a change spot of an excavation size being a boundary between the station part P and the railroad track part R, and enables reduction of a term of works and a construction cost resulting from shortening of a process.
