摘要： PURPOSE:To dissolve awkwardness such as breakage on a concrete pipe because of concentration of propelling force on inner peripheral side alone by connecting connections of concrete pipes to be buried to each other with a curve joint. CONSTITUTION:A curve joint basic body 10 to be connected to concrete pipes 2 propelled into the ground is composed of cast iron retainers 11 fitted to connections of respective concrete pipes 2, the same material of a taper spacer 12 interposed between these retainers 11, and a collar 13 formed of iron plate. If used the curve joint device, even when a slant is generated on the connection of concrete pipes at the time of constructing pipes in curve, the taper spacer in the curve joint moves automatically in accordance to slant quantity, and thrust is transmitted via the taper spacer. Propelling force can be uniformly transmitted thereby with whole periphery of the concrete pipes.

And when the body 43 advances along a curved course and even when the truck is tilted, for example, to the right side with respect to a straight course, the truck 14 is not immediately tilted to the right side by adjusting the length of the jacks 19a, 19b so that following-up of the truck 14 with respect to the body 43 can be smoothly made.

CONSTITUTION: A main beam 4 excavating a pilot pit 2 is extended at the central section of a cutter head 7 for a tunnel excavator 1 excavating a large- diameter tunnel while the end section of the main beam 4 is fixed onto a main frame 5. The main frame 5 is connected to a main gripper 13 through a thrust jack 23 while a holding jack 24 is coupled. When excavation at a fixed distance is completed and the main gripper 13 is replaced, a main-gripper jack holder is supported by the holding jack 24 while a gripper jack is shrunk, and gripper shoes 17 are separated from a wall surface 3 and moved. The main frame 5 is fixed onto the wall surface 3 from a side support 10 at that time. Accordingly, replacement can be conducted stably.
