    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a graft polymer with a high efficiency while suppressing crosslinking and decomposition by carrying out a graft polymerization of a radically polymerizable monomer with a thermoplastic polymer using a radical initiator, a compound containing a radical, or the like. SOLUTION: When a graft polymerization of (B) a radically polymerizable monomer with (A) a thermoplastic polymer is carried out, (C) at least one kind of radical initiator and (D) at least one kind of compound selected from (i) a compound containing a radical and (ii) a compound capable of generating the compound (i) are used and a compound providing 0-30 kcal/mol difference in heat of reaction ΔE is used as the components B, C and D. The difference in heat of reaction is ΔE1-ΔE2 and the ΔE1 denotes the heat of reaction represented by formula I [R(a)-R(b). is a radical species produced by adding a radical R(c). produced from the component C to the component B; R(d). is a stable radical generating from the components (i) and (ii); R(c)-R(b)-R(d) is a compound produced by binding the R(c)-R(b). to the R(d).]. Furthermore, the ΔE2 denotes the heat of reaction represented by formula II.
