摘要： A fixing device includes a heated body of a hollow cylindrical shape that is made of a conductive material and driven to rotate about an axis center, and a coil that heats the heated body by means of induction heating. The coil is formed of plural coil elements divided in an axial direction of the coil parallel to a rotational axis direction of the heated body, and the coil elements are aligned in such a manner that directions of magnetic fields of adjacent coil elements are opposite to each other. The heated body is set stationary in the rotational axis direction and the coil is reciprocally driven in the axial direction.

摘要： The exposure apparatus is provided with a first mirror frame movement hampering means for hampering the movement of the first mirror frame in the exposing direction. The first mirror frame movement hampering means has a closure mounted on an operating opening on the main body and a movement hampering member mounted on the closure and positioned near a linking portion of the driving device of the first mirror frame and at a position at which the movement in the exposing direction is interfered. 摘要： A replaceable unit determination mechanism includes a detection mechanism which has a lever member which is arranged so that the lever member comes into contact with a claw-shaped member when a rotatable member is rotating. The detection mechanism generates a detection signal when the replaceable unit is placed at a predetermined position and stops generating the detection signal when the lever member comes into contact with the claw-shaped member after the replaceable unit is placed in the predetermined position. The determination mechanism also includes a determination part which determines that the replaceable unit is correctly placed in the predetermined position when the detection signal is supplied from the detection mechanism and which determines that the replaceable unit is a new replaceable unit when the detection mechanism stops generating the detection signal. The claw-shaped member is broken when the claw-shaped member comes into contact with the lever member of the detection mechanism.

摘要： A toner image fixing device includes a driven fixing roller drivingly connected to a driving source and a rotatably mounted follower fixing roller. The follower fixing roller is mounted on a movable supporting member which is mounted for free movement between a contacting position at which the follower fixing roller is kept in press contact with the driven fixing roller and a non-contacting or non-pressing position at which the follower fixing roller is kept out of press contact with the driven fixing roller. A press-contacting control mechanism selectively holds the movable supporting member at the contacting position and the non-contacting position. The press-contacting control mechanism includes a positioning member connected to the movable supporting member via a spring and an actuating device for selectively holding the positioning member at an operating position and a non-operating position. When the positioning member is moved to the operating position, the movable supporting member is moved to the contacting position via the spring. When the positioning member is moved to the non-operating position, the movable supporting member is moved to the non-operating position via the spring.
