摘要： Technology for reporting mobility information is disclosed. Mobility information can be identified for the UE when the UE is in idle mode, the mobility information including a visited cell history for the UE when the UE is in idle mode. An evolved node B (eNB) can be notified that the mobility information for the UE is available when the UE transitions from the idle mode to a connected mode. A request can be received from the eNB for the mobility information. The mobility information can be sent to the eNB using a reduced number of bits to represent the mobility information while substantially maintaining a level of accuracy of a mobility state estimation for the UE, wherein the mobility state estimation is performed at the eNB in order to determine an estimated speed of the UE.

摘要： Embodiments of user equipment (UE) and method for handover enhancement using reference signal received quality (RSRQ) in a wireless network are generally described herein. In some embodiments, a UE adaptively selects handover initiation parameters based, at least in part, on a velocity of the UE. The UE may determine an RSRQ of a serving cell and an RSRQ of a target cell and may transmit a measurement report to a serving eNB for handover from the serving cell to the target cell when the target cell RSRQ exceeds the serving cell RSRQ in accordance with the selected handover initiation parameters. In some of these embodiments, the handover initiation parameters may include an offset value, such as an A3offset value, and a time-to-trigger (TTT) that comprise an A3offset-TTT pair.

The dedicated eNB and/or the dedicated CN may be configured to optimize performance for UEs sharing particular characteristics. Accordingly, the selection and/or reselection criteria may be biased to encourage the UE to select and/or reselect towards a dedicated eNB and/or an eNB coupled to a dedicated CN. The eNB and/or CN may be dedicated to supporting particular types of UEs, types of nodes, types of traffic, types of subscriptions, UE mobilities, applications/services, other predetermined categories, and/or the like.

The examples include establishing a backhaul link between base stations serving as primary and secondary cells for separate UE connections to management or gateway entities for the wireless network. The primary base station may provide macro cell coverage for the one or more UEs while the secondary base station may provide small cell coverage. The two base stations may split at least some protocol stack processing for radio bearers associated with the separate UE connections. Control information may be exchanged through the backhaul link to facilitate the split protocol stack processing. Other examples are described and claimed.

In some embodiments, the UE may initiate handover (HO) failure recovery by transmission of a random-access channel (RACH) 2 message when both a radio-link failure (RLF) timer and a time-to trigger (TTT) timer are concurrently running. The RACH 2 message may be a message transmitted on a random-access channel for radio-resource control (RRC) connection re-establishment. The RLF timer may be activated as part of a radio-link monitoring (RLM) process based on radio-link conditions with a serving cell, and the TTT timer may have been activated as part of a HO process based on a measurement reporting event.

In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a memory configured to store a configuration communication from a base station, the configuration communication comprising a dynamic dedicated random access channel (RACH) configuration (RACH-ConfigDedicated) information element, the RACH-ConfigDedicated information element comprising a plurality of dedicated random access parameters. Processing circuitry coupled to the memory is then configured to decode the configuration communication from the base station to identify the plurality of dedicated random access parameters and set up a RACH procedure for connection to the base station using the plurality of dedicated random access parameters. In various embodiments, different communications may be used for the dedicated random access parameters which are used in the RACH procedure.
