    • An electrical connector is provided in which a male connector is fitted into a female connector in such a manner that terminals are prevented from being bent even if the male connector is mistakenly fitted so as to be slanted at an angle with respect to the female connector. The electrical connector includes a male connector for sliding insertion into a female connector. A locking arm is mounted on a upper wall of the male connector. A bending preventing member protrudes from an inner wall face of the female connector and extends forwardly toward an opening of the hood of the female connector. An escape portion is formed by recessing in a front end face of the locking arm of the male connector to allow the bending preventing member of the female connector to enter thereinto. In this way, the terminals of the female connector are prevented from being bent since the bending preventing member contacts the front end face of the male connector and is not inserted into the escape portion when the male connector is mistakenly fitted so as to be slanted at an angle with respect to the female connector.

    • A connector is equipped with a front member in which a plurality of terminal containers for accommodating female terminal metal fittings are arranged in parallel in a transverse direction and resilient locking pieces of the terminal containers exposed forward are arranged in parallel in the transverse direction. The front member is composed of two through-hole portions. Each through-hole portion has jig insertion recesses continuously formed, wherein in the recess of jig insertion, respective substantial halves of two adjacent terminal containers appear, and the tapered guide surface formed on both edges of the recess of jig insertion partially overlap the periphery of the opening portion of each of the two terminal containers on the side of the resilient locking piece. Thus, a partner male terminal metal fittings can be smoothly guided into each terminal container through the front member provided at the connector housing.

    • A double terminal stop connector (1) has a terminal stop frame (4) and a connector housing (2). The terminal stop frame (4) has two opposing walls (8) and a pair of flexible hinge members (7) interposed therebetween on both sides of the terminal stop frame so that the two opposing walls can be elastically compressed. A temporary engagement arm 10 is formed with an end stopper surface (8c) and a temporary engagement projection (9). At least one complete engagement projection (11) is formed on at least one surface of the two opposing walls of the terminal stop frame. The connector housing (2) is formed with a temporary engagement slot (16) which is engageable with the temporal engagement arm projection (9) when the terminal stop frame is temporarily engaged with the connector housing. At least one complete engagement hole (17) is engageable with the at least one complete engagement projection (11) when the terminal stop frame is completely engaged with the connector housing. The end stopper surface (8 c) of the temporary engagement arm (10) is brought into contact with an end surface of the connector housing under temporary engagement conditions but is dislocated from the end surface of the connector housing when the flexible members are compressed for complete engagement of the terminal stop frame with the connector housing. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the terminal stop frame (4), when engaged with the connector housing temporarily, from being unintentionally engaged with the connector housing completely.
