    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable capable of accurately setting surplus length in the optical fiber cable having a neck height of ≤3 mm.
      SOLUTION: The optical fiber cable is composed of a support line part 13 for which a sheath 12 is applied to the outer periphery of a tension body 11, a cable part 15 in which a coated optical fiber ribbon 14 or the like is stored, and a neck part 16 which connects the support line part 13 and the cable part 15 with spacing. The optical fiber cable is designed such that the cable part 15 has the extra length relative to the support line part 13 and that the support line part 13 and the cable part 15 are offset to each other and connected with the neck part 16.

      SOLUTION: The optical fiber cable 1 has a supporting line section 19 in which a first sheath 11s is applied on a first tension body 33, a cable section 10 in which tape type coated optical fibers 12 are housed roughly in the center, and on whose periphery a second sheath 11c is applied, and in which one line or two lines of second tension bodies 14 are longitudinally added and they are housed in the second sheath 11c, and whose cross section is roughly rectangular, and a neck section 20 which connects the supporting section 19 and the side face of the side of the short side of the cable section 10, and in which opposed channel sections 15 of one place or more are formed respectively on both flanks of sides of long sides of the cable section 10 and also the opposed channel sections 15 are formed wider than the width of the housed tape type coated optical fibers 12 and moreover notches 16a to 16d are formed respectively at both corners of bottom sides of the opposed channel sections 15.
