    • A display device includes first and second voltage generation circuits each including a voltage circuit for outputting an internal voltage on the basis of a plurality of clocks, a sampling circuit for sampling an output signal from the voltage circuit, a monitoring circuit for comparing an output signal from the first sampling circuit with a predetermined voltage range and outputting a result, and a power supply generation circuit for generating a power supply voltage to be input to the voltage circuit on the basis of an output signal supplied from the monitoring circuit. The voltage circuit in the first voltage generation circuit is controlled on the basis of a level of the power supply voltage, and the voltage circuit in the second voltage generation circuit is controlled on the basis of periods of the clocks.

    • The present invention provides a liquid crystal display device which can reduce the difference in brightness between an image obtained from a reflection region and an image obtained from a transmission region. The liquid crystal display device includes a pixel electrode and a counter electrode in each pixel region on a liquid-crystal-side surface of one substrate out of respective substrates which are arranged to face each other with liquid crystal therebetween. The pixel region includes a transmission region and a reflection region. A gap between the pixel electrode and the counter electrode in the reflection region is set larger than the gap between the pixel electrode and the counter electrode in the transmission region.

    • The present invention provides a display device which includes a drive circuit having a CMOS shift register circuit constituted of a simple CMOS circuit. A drive circuit includes a shift register circuit, and the shift register circuit includes n(n≧2) pieces of basic circuits which are connected vertically in multiple stages. The basic circuit includes a first transistor of a first conductive type having a first electrode to which a clock is applied, a second transistor of a second conductive type different from the first conductive type in a conductive type and having a first electrode to which a second power source voltage is applied, and a third transistor of a first conductive type having a second electrode which is connected to the second electrode of the second transistor and a first electrode to which a first power source voltage different from the second power source voltage is applied, wherein the second electrode of the first transistor is connected to a control electrode of the third transistor, an input signal is applied to a control electrode of the first transistor and a control electrode of the second transistor, and a voltage of the second electrode of the third transistor forms a scanning circuit output.

    • A display device is provided which includes a common electrode drive circuit having the single channel constitution which can miniaturize a circuit scale without increasing elements compared to a conventional display device. A display device includes a plurality of pixels and a common electrode drive circuit. The common electrode drive circuit includes a plurality of basic circuits, wherein the basic circuit includes a first circuit which latches a first input signal at a point of time that a clock signal is changed to a first voltage level from a second voltage level; a second circuit which latches a second input signal at the point of time that the clock signal is changed to the first voltage level from the second voltage level; a first switching circuit which is turned on based on the first circuit and a second switching circuit which is turned on based on the second circuit.
