    • PURPOSE:To prevent a change in image density with a surrounding environment and to obtain satisfactory color image quality by controlling the operation of a developing device and a toner replenishment means according to information on temperature/humidity detected by the use of a temperature/humidity detection means and information on toner concentration detected by the use of a toner concentration detection means. CONSTITUTION:A temperature/humidity detector 16 is provided on the consol panel of a color printer. When the detector judges that a temperature/humidity detection signal indicates a high humidity, a control signal for the comparison with a toner concentration signal is increased to reduce toner concentration from a reference value, thereby suppressing an increase in image density. Conversely when the detector judges that the temperature/humidity detection signal indicates a low humidity, the control signal for the comparison with the toner concentration signal is reduced to increase the toner concentration from the reference value, thereby suppressing a decrease in image density. To reduce the toner concentration under a high humidity environment, a photosensitive belt 1 and developing devices 1a-1d are operated to consume toner; to increase the toner concentration under a low temperature environment, a toner hopper 13 is operated to carry out toner replenishment, thereby making the toner concentration proper.

    • PURPOSE:To miniaturize an image forming device in its entirety by curving one end part of a paper feed cassette so that the projection area of the cassette is made to be small. CONSTITUTION:In an electrophotographing image-forming device, one end part of a cassette 1 for storing therein recording mediums is curved in a sheet pick-up direction. Meanwhile, the other end part 2 of the cassette 1 is slanted so that several recording mediums which are not uniformly aligned when they are stored in the cassette may be aligned. Further, the stored mediums are fed out one by one by means of a pick-up roller 4, and are formed thereon with a toner image by means of an intermediate image-transfer drum 7. Further, a member 3 for pressing the back surface of a medium and a spring 6 are disposed in the bottom part of the cassette so that even a small number of the recording mediums remaining in the cassette may be taken out. The loading and unloading of this cassette 1 is carried out in a direction perpendicular to the sheet pick-up direction. Accordingly, the projection area of the cassette can be made to be smaller than that of a conventional rectangular parallelepiped cassette, thereby it is possible to miniaturize the image forming device in its entirety.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce a position shift and the size of a color electrophotographic recording device by providing a function which determines the timing of the start of a horizontal scan corresponding to each color by counting internal clock pulses by the 2nd number set corresponding to each color from the point of time of the detection of a reference pulse. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive drum 1 is corona-charged electrostatically and uniformly by an electrostatic charger 2 and an optically modulated laser beam 3Y is scanned horizontally by the optical system composed of a polygon mirror 4 rotated by a motor 600, an Ftheta lens 5, a mirror 6, etc., to expose the photosensitive drum 1 to light, forming an electrostatic latent image on the photosensitive body. A beam detector is provided for only one of three colors and the modulation of three laser beams is controlled on the basis of the detection signal. Namely, the modulation start times of respective color recording laser beams 3Y-3C of Y, M, and C are set as times t1-t3 according to a signal BDY so that respective color toner images are superposed at a horizontally correct position when transferred to a recording form. Consequently, a color image which has superior color reproducibility and resolution is obtained and the device is reduced in size and cost.

    • PURPOSE:To adjust print density by varying the quantity of erasing light and controlling the surface potential of a photoconductor in a laser beam printer. CONSTITUTION:The photoconductor 1 is electrostatically charged by an electrostatic charger 2 and exposed to a light beam 3 containing picture information from a laser to form an electrostatic latent image, which is developed by a developing device 4 to form a toner image 6; and this toner image is transferred electrostatically to transfer paper 7. Residual toner 9 on the photoconductor 1 is removed by a cleaner 10 and residual charges on the photoconductor 1 are erased by the erasing light 11 to reuse the photoconductor 1. When the picture density of the transfer toner image 8 on transfer paper 7 is controlled, the surface potential at a development part 4 should be varied, but the surface potential varies in inverse proportion to the quantity of the erasing light, so the surface potential is controlled by the erasing light 11 to adjust the print density easily.

    • PURPOSE:To achieve the improvement in the sharpness of recording images of two colors by providing a roller applied with the charge of the polarity opposite from that of a two-component type developer on its surface near the surface of a sleeve and removing the two component type developer mixed from a magnetic power layer. CONSTITUTION:Developing parts 6, 12 which respectively develop the electrostatic latent images formed on a recording medium 1 by a two-component developer 7 and a magnetic toner 13 of a color differing from this are provided. At the time when a magnetic toner layer 22 contacts the surface of the recording medium 1 in the developing part 12, apart of the two-component developer 7 stuck on the recording medium 1 comes off and mixes into the magnetic toner layer 22. A roller 23 applied with the charge of the polarity opposite from that of the two component type developer 7 on its surface is provided in proximity to the lower side of a sleeve 19 in order to remove the two component developer 7a having entered the magnetic toner layer 22 from said layer. The two component developer 7 and the magnetic toner 13 separated in this way are recovered and are again used for development, thus the sharp two-color imges may be obtained.
