    • PURPOSE:To prevent a battery from being wasted by turning off the power source of a camera automatically a certain time when no camera operation is performed within the certain time or when the camera enters a nonuse state. CONSTITUTION:When a main switch 10 is turned on, a counter 19 begins to count up. In this state, when a release switch 20, fill-in photography switch 22, or wide-angle/telephoto changeover switch 23 is turned ON, a single-shot multivibrator 24 outputs a pulse to reset the counter 19. Thus, the counter 19 is reset properly during the use of the camera, so the counter never counts up to a specific value. When the camera is left as it is, on the other hand, a switching circuit 15 turns off an electric circuit connected to a power line L the certain time later. When the camera is carried, mercury 30 makes a nonuse attitude detection contact couple Y, so the output of the counter 19 goes up to an H level the specific time later. When, however, the camera body enters a nearly horizontal state, a use attitude detection contact couple X are made to reset the counter 19.

    • PURPOSE:To accomplish focusing operation on a main object independent of the intensity of reflected light by connecting first and second comparators provided with high and low reference voltages to respective photodetectors and obtaining first and second range-finding signals from the group of the comparators. CONSTITUTION:The first and the second comparators 31a-35a and 31b-35b provided with the high reference voltages V1a-V5a, the low reference voltages V1b-V5b are connected to the photodetectors S1-S5 which receive reflected light from an object. Signals A1a-A5a and A1b-A5b which respond to the intensity of the reflected light of the object are outputted from the groups of the comparators. Either lens setting position is selected depending on whether or not difference between first and second lens setting positions which are obtained in response to the first and second range-finding signals satisfies a specified condition. Therefore, focusing on the main object can be performed with high probability even if there is a level difference in the intensity of the reflected light.

    • PURPOSE:To catch a main object within a focusing range at high rate by including a distance range in which the existing probability of the main object is high in the focusing range by preferring range finding information by referring to the depth of the field to be photographed according to object luminance information so as to decide the set position of a photographing lens. CONSTITUTION:A range finding information detection circuit 20 outputs range finding signal from a light receiving sensor 14 as the range finding information. And the range finding information is inputted in a microprocessor unit (MPU) 22. And the set position of the photographing lens 2 is decided by referring to a prescribed distance range besides the range finding signal and the depth of the field to be photographed of the photographing lens according to the luminance of the object. Thus, the main object can be mostly included in the focusing range if the prescribed distance range is set in 1.5-3m in which the main object exists at the highest rate statistically.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent a battery from being wasted by detecting the portable or stationary state of a camera and turning off a power source automatically when the state continues for a specific time. CONSTITUTION:When the camera is left with a main switch 10 ON, a couple of contacts X and Y of a shock detection switch 18 are still OFF. Further, when the camera body is left slanted, either of the contacts X and Y is held ON. In neither of those cases, a counter 23 is reset, so the counter keeps on counting. Then when a specific time elapses, a signal indicating that the camera is not used is inputted to a switching circuit 15 through a delay circuit 16. Consequently, respective electric circuits connected to a power line turn OFF. Further, when the camera body 31 is suspended, a nonuse attitude detection contact couple N turn on and a counter 35 generates an H-level output a certain time later. Thus, the line L is turned off as mentioned above.
