    • A telephone station protector module suitable for exposure to weather includes an elongated lower hollow housing member has a longitudinal and a transverse axis. The top surface includes a pair of terminal assemblies with the front and rear surfaces parallel to the module's longitudinal axis and include an elongated through aperture and an open bottom. Each terminal assembly includes a pair of hollow rectangularly shaped upper housing members having a top surface with an aperture adapted to receive a threaded bolt. Two side surfaces parallel to the transverse axis are provided with a plurality of apertures suitable for receiving insulated wires therein. The other two parallel sides surfaces are provided with an outwardly extending protrusion for cooperating with the bottom member elongated aperture. The terminal assembly also includes a generally U-shaped conducting contact, which has a pair of arm portions and a base portion. Each arm portion is provided with at least one cutting slot in alignment with the apertures for receiving the insulated wires therein. A pair of conducting feedthroughs have internal threads on one end for receiving the bolt therein. The threaded end of the feedthrough is retained by the lower housing member aperture and extends into the hollow portion of the housing. Rotating the threaded bolt urges the top housing member into the lower housing member, wherein the insulated wires inserted into the side through apertures into the slots of the U-shaped contacts complete a conductive path therebetween.

    • A mailer assembly which can be supplied to a user in intermediate form and which, when assembled and sealed, has an enhanced ability to shield confidential information from unauthorized view is provided. The mailer assembly may also include an integral return envelope and also may be designed so that variable information can be printed on the sheets making up the mailer prior to assembly using nonimpact printers such as laser printers which use heat and pressure to fuse toner to paper. The mailer assembly includes first and second sheets in superimposed relation, with each of the first and second sheets having a pair of marginal side edges and a pair of end edges. The mailer further includes removable marginal side and end strips for opening the mailer. The first and second sheets are secured together parallel to their respective marginal side and end edges to form a subassembly. The subassembly is V-folded along a suitable axis thereof and secured together along its marginal and end strips to form the mailer assembly.

    • A modular device for a telephone network interface apparatus having separate connection and plug-actuated testing compartments. The compartment for connection having at least one pair of contact wires for connection to a subscriber premises line and at least one pair of contact wires for connection to an incoming telephone company line, and an arm member mounted for insertion in the connecting compartment and into engagement with the subscriber and telephone company contact wires effecting the connection between the pair of subscriber contact wires and the pair of telephone company contact wires and for being withdrawn from the connecting compartment causing the subscriber contact wires to be disconnected from the telephone company contact wires to provide a point for demarcation therebetween. The subscriber contact wires and telephone company contact wires are preferably oriented in a manner to facilitate their physical connection through the contact engagement of a nonconducting arm member inserted within the connecting department. The compartment for testing having at least one pair of telephone company contact wires for engagement with the plug of an operating telephone inserted into the testing compartment to facilitate the determination of whether a fault exists on the subscriber premises line or the incoming telephone company line. The telephone company contact wires within the testing compartment are preferably spaced apart and/or separated by insulating material in a manner to improve their dielectric strength.
