    • PURPOSE:To secure safety in cleaning operation, reduce a cost of cleaning work and eliminate sucking of powder dusts by a method wherein an ascending or descending driving device is operated, and there are provided a hollow supporting column, an expandable or retractable upper supporting arm, a lower supporting arm, ascending or descending guide wheels attached to the extreme ends or these supporting arms and contacting with an inner surface of a chimney barrel and a cleaning means for cleaning the inner surface of the chimney barrel attached to each of working arms. CONSTITUTION:A which 4 is set to an endless wire 3 suspended from a top port of a chimney barrel 1 in such a way as it can be fixed or ascended or descended, its operation is checked by a control device 25, then the winch 4 is operated to cause a hollow supporting column 6, expandable or retractable upper supporting arms 7 and 6, lower supporting arms 7' and 8', ascending or descending guide wheels 9 and 9' attached to the extreme ends of these upper supporting arms 7, 8 and lower supporting arms 7', 8' and contacting with the inner surface of the chimney barrel 1, each of working arms 10 and a brush 16 fixed to each of the working arms 10 to be lifted, and in turn each of the working arms 10 is swivelled around a lower end of the hollow supporting column 6 in a horizontal direction, each of the brushes 16 is oscillated around a vertical shaft 19 in a lateral direction and further each of the brushes 16 is oscillated around the horizontal shaft 13 in a vertical direction to perform an automatic cleaning at an entire inner circumferential surface of the chimney barrel 1.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate mantling/dismantling work of a temporary roof at the time of inspecting/repairing a stack by providing a shielding plate covering the smoke outlet on top of a chimney such that it can move between a shielding position and a side containing position through a shielding plate moving mechanism. SOLUTION: A stretching table 15 is disposed closely to the top of a stack 11 and the automatic shielding unit 16 for a smoke outlet 14 is disposed on the table 15 and a nozzle structure 13. The unit 16 comprises a shielding plate winding/containing box 17 with a driver, and a pair of guide rails 18 for the shielding plate. A shielding plate 20 is supported, at the opposite ends thereof, movably on the guide rails 18 through a roller chain, or the like, so that it can be fed out onto the smoke outlet 14 or pulled in therefrom through the driver of the containing box 17. When smoke discharge of the stack 11 is stopped, the automatic shielding unit 16 controls the drive system of the containing box 17 through a remote operating board 26 to feed out the shielding plate 20 from the box 17 onto the smoke outlet 14 thus shielding the smoke outlet 14 in a short time.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inject water of a high pressure to the inside surface of a chimney concentrically for a prescribed time across its circumferential direction by attachably and detachably providing one of the fountain ports of a swiveling joint pipe with a bent nozzle and providing the other fountain ports of the swiveling joint pipe exclusive of the fountain port provided with the bent nozzle with a straight nozzle. SOLUTION: The swiveling joint pipe 13 is fitted coaxially and swivellably onto the outer peripheral surface of an ordinate pipe 12 via bearings 14. The fountain ports 13a to 13d communicating with a water flow path 12b are formed in the symmetrical positions on the outer peripheral surface around the axial center thereof. The fountain port 13d among the fountain ports 13a to 13d is provided with attachably and detachably with the bent nozzle 17 so as to intersect orthogonally with the axial center of the swiveling joint pipe 13. The fountain ports 13a to 13c exclusive of the fountain port 13d provided with the bent nozzle 17 are respectively provided with straight nozzles 16. As a result, the concentric injection of the water of the high pressure to the inside surface of the chimney for the prescribed time is made possible.
