摘要： An ARQ (re-) transmission method of transmitting data in a wireless communication system wherein data packets are transmitted from a transmitter to a receiver, using a first transmission and a second transmission based on a repeat request. The method comprises the steps of modulating data at the transmitter using a first signal constellation pattern to obtain a first data symbol. The first data symbol is transmitted as the first transmission to the receiver using a first diversity branch. Further, the data is modulated at the transmitter using a second signal constellation pattern to obtain a second data symbol. Then, the second data symbol is transmitted as the second transmission to the receive over a second diversity branch. Finally, the received first and second data symbol data symbol are diversity combined at the receiver. The invention further relates to a transmitter and a receiver embodied to carry out the method of the invention.

摘要： An ARQ transmission method in a communication system, wherein data packets comprising modulation symbols are transmitted based on an automatic repeat request and subsequently combined with previously received data packets. The symbols of the transmitted data packets are modulated in a mapping entity employing at least a first and second signal constellation. The method further comprises the step of obtaining the second signal constellation from the first signal constellation by exchanging a logical bit position and/or inverting a logical bit. The invention further relates to a corresponding transmitter and receiver.

In particular, the number of transmission processes is determined based on the position of time intervals available for the transmission and may be selected in order to control the round trip time of the retransmission protocol. Once the number of transmission processes has been configured, the transmission processes are mapped on the available time intervals in a predefined order and repetitively.

The invention provides a structure (message) that allows conveying channel quality information in a manner allowing an unambiguous identification of the size channel quality information. This is achieved by defining a message comprising a first channel quality field consisting of a known number of bits, and a second channel quality field consisting of a variable number of bits. The number of bits and structure (of the content of the bits) of the second channel quality field is indicated by the content of the bits of the first channel quality field.

摘要： In a mobile communication system with uncorrelated channel characteristics, transmission using modulation of data symbols with repetition can improve the performance. However, mapping of the original and the repeated symbols into the physical resources may on the other hand reduce a desired level of diversity when the original and the corresponding repeated symbols map on the physical resources close to each other. The present invention provides a method for transmission, a transmitter, a method for receiving, and a receiver capable of efficiently transmit/receive data symbols with an increased level of diversity. This is achieved by grouping of portions of the original and the corresponding data symbols and by mapping the portions of the original and the corresponding data symbols into the different physical resource blocks.

摘要： The invention relates to methods and apparatuses for providing HARQ feedback in a mobile communication system using carrier aggregation. To suggest a scheme for transmitting feedback on the successful/unsuccessful decoding of transmissions that is operable in FDD mode, the invention proposes to utilize only a single one of plural radio resources available for feedback transmission for signaling feedback for multiple transmissions. A feedback sequence of ACK/NACKs for the transmissions is mapped to one feedback resource combination that is one of the radio resources available for feedback transmission and a modulation symbol of the given modulation scheme that is transmitted on said one radio resource. This scheme can also be used in cases where the number of possible feedback sequences of ACK/NACKs for the transmissions is larger than the number of feedback resource combinations available for feedback transmission.

摘要： A method is disclosed for digital data transmission using higher order modulation schemes, wherein a plurality of bits is mapped to bit positions of a symbol and the transmission has different error probabilities for at least two out of said bit positions. A data bit is mapped to a bit position in a first modulation scheme and transmitted in a symbol on the mapped bit position of the first modulation scheme. When a request is received from a receiver, for re-transmission of a data block containing this data bit, a decision is made about a re-transmission of said bit, based on a reliability of the bit position in the first transmission, and if it is decided to retransmit the bit, the data bit is mapped to a bit position of a second modulation scheme and retransmitted in a symbol on the mapped bit position of the second modulation scheme.
