    • The invention relates to a cleaning apparatus (10) comprising an electromotive cleaning unit and a housing (12) that is provided with a battery chamber (35) for accommodating at least one rechargeable battery (41). A connecting device (43) encompassing a mechanical holding part (44) and an electrical plug-in connector part (45) is disposed in the battery chamber (35) so as to establish an electrical and mechanical connection between the battery (41) and the cleaning apparatus (10). In order to further develop the inventive cleaning apparatus in such a way that batteries (81) of different shapes can be used, the holding part (44) is detachably retained in the battery chamber (35) while the plug-in connector part (45) can selectively be connected in a removable manner to the holding part (44) or a wall (37) of the battery chamber (35).

    • The invention relates to a suction device comprising a dirt collection container (14) for material which has been vacuumed up, a suction assembly (24) for subjecting the dirt collection container (14) to the action of a vacuum by means of a suction-removal space (28), at least one filter element (32) which is arranged between the dirt collection container (14) and the suction-removal space (28) in the direction of flow of the air which is removed by suction by the suction assembly (24), at least one rechargeable battery (48, 50) for providing electrical energy for the suction assembly (24), and also at least one battery compartment (60, 62) for holding the at least one battery (48, 50) on the suction device (10). In order to provide a suction device of this kind which can be handled in a user-friendly manner, the invention proposes that the suction device (10) comprises a filter cover (74) which be moved from a closed position, in which the at least one filter element (32) is covered, to a removal position, in which the at least one filter element (32) can be removed from and inserted into the suction device (10) on the clean-room side, and vice versa, and which filter cover (74) comprises the at least one battery compartment (60, 62) for the at least one battery (48, 50).
