摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium, which has high density, high sensitivity and is suitable for high linear speed recording, by a method wherein the contrast between a recording mark and a space in a coloring matter recording layer is made larger than ever. SOLUTION: In the optical recording medium having at least a coloring matter recording layer 2, a reflecting layer 3 and a protective layer 4 on a transparent substrate 1, the coloring matter recording layer is a layer including an electron acceptable developer. At the same time, adjacent to the coloring matter recording layer, a color compound layer including an electron donable color compound is provided. Thus, by developing the fusion mixing between the electron acceptable developer and the electron donable color compound in a portion, irradiated by the laser beams L, a color developing structure is formed, resulting in realizing the highly dense and highly sensitive optical recording medium suitable for high linear speed recording.

SOLUTION: This optical disk is formed by laminating layers 6 for recording and reproducing information and mask layers 12 having a mask effect to increase light transmittance when the intensity of irradiation light increases. The diameter of the light spot transmitted through the mask layers is made substantially smaller than the diameter of the light spot incident on the mask layers 12 and the layers for recording and reproducing the information are irradiated with the light. The mask layers consist of a low-sensitivity mask film 12B having low sensitivity, a high-sensitivity mask film 12A having high sensitivity and an isolation film 14 interposed between these two mask films for preventing the mixing of the materials of these two mask films. As a result, the sufficient mask effect may be exhibited in recording and reproducing.

When the optical disk is used, the information is recorded/reproduced with the first wavelength irradiation beam which changes the light transmittance of the mask layer, and one of a focus servo signal and a tracking signal is obtained wit the second wavelength irradiation beam which causes a smaller change of the light transmittance of the mask layer.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for continuously treating waste optical recording media, wherein the waste optical recording media consisting essentially of a polycarbonate resin and having a reflection layer and the like are chemically decomposed and the resultant bisphenolic compound is efficiently recovered without inclusion of foreign matter. SOLUTION: The waste is chemically decomposed in the presence of a solvent, an alcohol and a catalyst in a decomposition vessel 1. After the reflection layer and the light of the decomposition residue are separated and removed in a segregation vessel 3, the bisphenolic compound is recovered in a separation vessel 7 and the residual solution is fed to a distillation tower 11 to fractionate and recover the solvent and alcohol which are circulated to the decomposition vessel 1 for reuse.
