摘要： A composite film useful for image supporting media, including: a first layer containing a thermoplastic polymer and optionally containing a whitening agent; a second layer containing a thermoplastic polymer and a whitening agent; a third layer containing a thermoplastic polymer and a cavitating agent, wherein the third layer is a cavitated layer; optionally a fourth layer containing a thermoplastic polymer and optionally a whitening agent; and optionally a fifth layer containing a thermoplastic polymer and optionally a whitening agent; wherein the second layer is between the first layer and the third layer, the third layer is between the second layer and the optional fourth layer, and the optional fourth layer is between the third layer and the optional fifth layer. Embodiments may have the advantage(s) of improved outer surface characteristics, compressibility, thermal insulation, whiteness, and/or stiffness.

摘要： Imageable multilayer films are provided which include at least a core layer comprising a pigment or other colorant, a clear sealant layer, and an image-side tie layer intermediate the core layer and the sealant layer, where the tie layer comprises a cavitating agent. The sealant layer may include a first polymer component having a heat of fusion of less than 75 J/g and a second polymer component. The multilayer film may have a seal strength greater than about 200 g/2.54 cm for a seal formed on a crimp sealer at a temperature of at least 93.3° C. The multilayer film may be biaxially oriented, an image may be effected on the film without the use of inks, and the film may be useful in packaging applications.

摘要： Provided are polymeric films that include a polyolefin and at least one cavitating agent including a poly(alkylene terephthalate) of formula (I); wherein n, representing the number of methylene segments in the repeating unit, is 3 or an integer greater than or equal to 5; p, representing the degree of polymerization, is an integer greater than 1. The polymeric film may be an opaque polymeric film. A preferred cavitating agent is poly(trimethylene terephthalate). Also provided are methods for making such polymeric films.

Such coating composition is comprised of an aqueous dispersion of a substantially non-polar copolymer of ethylene and an alpha-olefin having less than 20 carbon atoms, and an additive selected from the group consisting of an anti-blocking and slip agent, a coalescent and wetting agent, and mixtures thereof.
