      SOLUTION: The roll scanner is provided with a rotation means 3 for rotating the subject 1 having a circumference surface 1a, a light source 21 for radiating scanning light to the circumference surface 1a of the subject 1 rotated by the rotation means 3, and a reading head 4 having a line CCD to read reflection light reflected on the subject 1 via a reflector and a lens. The rotation means 3 has a pair of feed rollers 2 and 2 which set the subject 1 with different diameters at a mountable space and are rotationally driven in the mutually same direction. The reading head 4 is arranged at a position between the pair of feed rollers 2 and 2 so as to read the state of the circumference surface 1a of the subject 1 with a different diameter as a continuous and series of image data.
