    • PURPOSE: To rapidly and easily exchange filter cloth over the entire area of a cartridge by holding the peripheral edge portion of a web of a screening material inserted into the groove of a cartridge frame in the groove by means of a cord of elastic material mounted in the groove. CONSTITUTION: This screening cartridge 18 is constituted by mounting the peripheral edge of the filter cloth, i.e., the screen 2 into the groove 12, then press fitting the cloth into the groove 12 by bringing the elastic rubber cord 3 into pressurized contact with the surface of the filter cloth 2 and spreading the filter cloth 2. To remove the rubber cord 3 and the filter cloth 2 from the groove 12, the one end of the rubber cord 3 is lifted from the groove 12 and the rubber cord 3 is gradually pulled up from the groove 12 from its one end. The filter cloth 2 is then simultaneously opened. The screening cartridge 18 constitutes a module construction for the purpose of a screening drum. Then, the exchange of the screening cartridge as a whole is made possible as well and the exchange of only the filter cloth is possible as well.

    • PURPOSE: To decrease the cost and to enhance efficiency of recovery of mineral by constituting the machine of an inlet box and an outlet box provided on one vertical cylindrical floatation cell and a cell, a revolving mechanism for generating mineral-rich froth, and a hexagonal overflow froth launder for collecting mineral-rich froth. CONSTITUTION: A froth floatation machine 50 is provided with at least one of the vertical cylindrical floating cells 52-59 having the upper end, and the inlet boxes 64, 66 provided with the cells 52-59, and the outlet boxes 68, 70 provided on the cells 52-59. The machine is constituted such that revolving mechanisms 60, 61, 62 are respectively arranged in the cells 52, 54, 56 in order to generate mineral-rich froth, and the entire periphery of the upper end of the cells 52-56 is extended around it in order to collect the mineral-rich froth, and hexagonal overflow froth launders 84, 88, 89 and 94 are attached to the upper end.

    • PURPOSE: To quantitatively and qualitatively control the local instantaneous density of an incompressible fluid like pulp by detecting the average state of the density of the fluid having a prescribed capacity by the length of the movement time of this fluid. CONSTITUTION: A pneumatic pump 1 is charged with sludge 12 by gravity to push up a diaphragm 16, and a controller 33 opens the air passage of a valve 5 by the signal from an upper detector 29 to introduce compressed air to an upper chamber 15a of the pump 1, and the diaphragm 16 is displaced downward to discharge the sludge 12 out of the pump. The controller 33 closes the air passage of the valve 5 by the signal from a lower detector 30 and opens the exhaust passage of the valve 5. Simultaneously, the sludge delivery time based signals of detectors 29 and 30 is stored in the controller 33, and the controller 33 controls the pump delivery speed so that the difference between the actually measured delivery time and a reference value is eliminated. The length of the delivery time shows the average state of the density of the sludge having the prescribed capacity. Thus, the local instantaneous density of the incompressible fluid is quantitatively and qualitatively controlled.
