摘要： 16,924. Boyd, T. A. Aug. 5. Spindle apparatus; rollers and roller heads.- Improvements on the invention described in Specification No. 18,920, A.D. 1888. The spring holding- down hook 7 is provided with a brake block, so that, when left free, it will brake and stop the spindle. Normally it is held with its brake block out of action by reason of a projection on the vertical rod 1 engaging a horizontal arm of the hook. When the rod 1 is released automatically on the breakage of a thread, the top roller is raised, the driving-band 4 is slackened, and the brake lever 7 is applied to the wharve. As regards means for bringing the stop-motion into action by the hand of the operative, the rod 1 may be held in its lowest position by means of a cam lever, one end of which may serve as a thread-guide. Or the lever 2 carrying the tension pulley 3 may be disconnected from the rod 1, and the latter may be held in its lowest position by its own weight and that of its connected parts ; when it is desired to raise the roller and stop the spindle the vertical rod is raised and held in the raised position by a cam lever similar to that above referred to, the free end of which may serve as a thread-guide. The pulley 3 may be formed of two sheet-metal discs 3 , 3 , which are flanged at their edges to form the rim, and united together by their webs, which are perforated, the edges of the perforations in the one being folded around those of the other as shown in Fig. 5. Its axle takes within bushes 2 , 2 , adjustably mounted on the end of a forked lever, the ends of the bushes being formed each with a chamber for holding a felt washer or material saturated with lubricant.

摘要： Integrated circuit chip attachment is described using a local heat source. In one example an interposer has a top side to connect to a silicon component and a bottom side to connect to a circuit board, the top side having a plurality of contact pads to electrically connect to the silicon component using solder. The interposer a plurality of heater traces having connection terminals. A removable control module attaches over the interposer and silicon component to conduct a current to the heater connection terminals to heat the heater traces, to melt a solder on the contact pads of the interposer and to form a solder joint between the component and the interposer.

摘要： The present invention relates to systems and methods capable of characterizing populations of organisms within a sample. The characterization may utilize probabilistic matching of short strings of sequencing information to identify genomes from a reference genomic database to which the short strings belong. The characterization may include identification of the microbial community of the sample to the species and/or sub-species and/or strain level with their relative concentrations or abundance. In addition, the system and methods may enable rapid identification of organisms including both pathogens and commensals in clinical samples, and the identification may be achieved by a comparison of many (e.g., hundreds to millions) metagenomic fragments, which have been captured from a sample and sequenced, to many (e.g., millions or billions) of archived sequence information of genomes (i.e., reference genomic databases).

摘要： A oral care composition includes: (a) a guanidine active; (b) a film-forming polymer; (c) a hydrophobic viscosity modifier in an amount sufficient to provide the oral care composition with a particle settling time greater than 20 minutes; and (d) an oil carrier. The guanidine active is preferably L-arginine. The film-forming polymer is preferably GANTREZ. The hydrophobic viscosity modifier is preferably a gelled mineral oil. The oil carrier is preferably a vegetable oil. A method of cleaning teeth includes applying to the teeth the oral care composition such that the oral care composition cleans the teeth. A oral care implement includes: a handle; a head mounted to the handle, the head having an outer surface and a plurality of tooth cleaning elements extending outwardly from the outer surface; and a gelatin capsule containing the oral care composition positioned on the head.

The compositions provide improved sensory appeal, and comparable reduction in volatile sulfur compounds and antibacterial activity to advanced formula toothpaste formulations. The compositions include a high percentage of antibacterial agent and flavoring, when compared to conventional toothpastes, and some mouth washes formulations, such that only minor amounts of the composition can be delivered to the oral care implement to provide improved reduction in volatile sulfur compounds, antibacterial efficacy, and optionally a cooling sensation.
