The catalyst layer 23 contains titanium oxide and an oxide of at least one element of molybdenum, tungsten and vanadium and is deposited on the surface of the intermediate layer 11 on the opposite side of the base material 1 and on the plurality of grooves 25 thereof.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a burner which is surely ignited and capable of stable burning by promoting the formation of a mixed region of fuel particles and high oxygen concentration gas within a fuel nozzle even when only low oxygen concentration gas is used for carrier gas of fuel.SOLUTION: The solid fuel burner comprises: a fuel nozzle 11 which coaxially injects solid fuel and low oxygen concentration carrier gas in the outer periphery of an oil gun 24; a venturi 32 which reduces a flow passage within the fuel nozzle 11 closer to a center axis; a condenser 33 which reduces the flow passage closer to an inner wall of the fuel nozzle 11 at a back stream side of the venturi 32; and a distributor 35 which distributes the flow passage closer to the inner wall of the fuel nozzle 11 and closer to the center axis at the back stream side of the condenser 33. In the flow passage between the venturi 32 and the condenser 33 and the flow passage between the distributor 35 and a wall surface of the fuel nozzle 11, injection ports 12a, 13a are provided for injecting high oxygen concentration gas into the fuel nozzle 11. Over all the periphery of a cross section of the fuel nozzle 11, a region is formed in which the vicinity of the inner wall becomes high oxygen and fuel particle concentration, so that the solid fuel burner is surely ignited and capable of stable burning.

A cooling water supply system is installed to supply water recovered in the water recovering unit as cooling water to any one of the gasification furnace, the heat recovering unit of the gasification furnace and the cooling tower.
