    • A fiberizing rotor in a machine for producing mineral fibres by free centrifuging, comprising a rim on the outside of which the molten material to be fiberized into fibres is fed from a distribution rotor or another fiberizing rotor. Said rotor comprises an internal liquid circuit with liquid discharge ports on the rim, wherein the ports are located in the rim portion where said material is deposited. This arrangement of cooling ports enables the temperature of the support to be reduced in the hottest area thereof, whereby the corresponding temperature gradients are reduced. As the temperature gradients are reduced on the rim of the centrifuging rotors under the molten material being fiberized, the production conditions and thus the product quality (fibre length and delay in the loss of quality due to rotor wear), the stability of the conditions (compositions having, in particular, a narrow working range) or the wear of the equipment may be substantially improved.

    • The present invention concerns a method for melting recycled silicate starting materials (70), wherein a rotating transport flow (54) comprising helical flow filaments of transport air (66) and starting material (70) is supplied in the direction of the helix axis (72) thereof into the combustion chamber (8) of a cyclone furnace. The injector flow (50) can be supplied into the forechamber (38) through a charging conduit (48) to generate a transport flow (54) made up of starting material (70) and transport air (66).     • Laminated mineral wool products which have to comply with high fire protection standards, such as building material belonging to Class A2 according to DIN 4102, require special production expenses if the laminating foil is to be reliably fastened with organic glue without downgrading its fire protection classification. By foaming the glue it is possible to manage with a fraction of the hitherto required quantity of glue without having to accept an essential lowering of glue performance. As a result, organic glue can be used without its fire load having to be neutralised by polluting flame-inhibiting agents. Furthermore the glue foam causes less problems during processing in production, reduces the charged quantity of glue, and reduces the required drying capacities. It is particularly suited for difficult applications such as laminating felt which is rolled for packaging or laminated panels comprising erect fibers.
