    • Universal fitments for attachment to spouts having various internal diameters and/or various threadings and methods of using the same. The universal fitments may attach to spouts around their outer diameters and/or within their inner diameters. Some universal fitments include an outer circumferential member having a central aperture extending there through and a deformable inner circumferential member adjoined to the inner surface of the outer circumferential member. Other universal fitments include a central longitudinal member and a flexible flange encircling the central longitudinal member. Still other universal fitments include a central longitudinal member having a proximal flange and a distal flange, a circumferential member comprised of a compressible material surrounding the central longitudinal member and abutting the proximal flange, a cap member, and a cylindrical member adjoined to the proximal end of the cap member and having a threaded surface which interacts with the distal flange.

    • A baking receptacle (10) for baking a food product in an oven, including baking items such as muffins, cakes, rolls, etc. The receptacle (10) is comprised of a sheet of thin ovenable material formed to define a bottom, a side wall (14), and a folded top portion (16). The side wall (14) extends from the bottom and forms readily expandable, longitudinal pleats (20). The folded top portion (16) extends from the side wall (14) opposite the bottom and includes, in one preferred embodiment, a first section (30), a second section (32) , and a third section (34). The first section is folded relative to the side wall such that a first fold angle (A) is defined by the side wall (14) and the first section (30). Similarly, the second section (32) is folded relative to the first section (30) such that a second fold angle (B) is defined by the first section (30) and the second section (32) . Finally, the third section (34) is folded relative to the second section (32) such that a third fold angle (C) is defined by the second section (32) and the third section (34). With these definitions in mind, the second and third fold angles (B, C) are each less than 90°. With this configuration, the folded top portion (16) will substantially prevent expansion of the longitudinal pleats (20) opposite the bottom. Thus, during a baking operation, the receptacle (10) will maintain its integrity in response to an internal expansion force generated by a contained bankable food product (50), independent of any other support structures. In one preferred embodiment, the first section (30) of the folded top portion (16) forms a ledge for supporting a bankable food product (50) otherwise expanding or rising outwardly from the side wall during baking, such as a muffin crown (54). In another preferred embodiment, the receptacle (10) is formed to define an irregular peripheral shape, such as a heart.

    • A system and method for distributing, preparing and consuming puffable half-products is disclosed. Puffable half-products can be expanded or puffed to produce cereals, cereal-based snacks and beverages through exposure to a suitable energy source. The half-products can be shipped through various channels of trade in bulk quantities or consumer-sized packages to an intermediary or directly to the end user. These dense pieces or pellets are not fragile and have a virtually unlimited shelf life. Furthermore, unlike conventional foods that have already been puffed long before reaching the consumer, these puffable food products can be puffed shortly before consumption. As a result, the consumer is now able, for the first time, to enjoy the full flavor and crispness of finished cereals, snacks and beverages while still "freshly puffed" and, in certain variations, while still warm and aromatic from finish preparation. By providing consumers with access to these half-products and means to puff them, and a variety of toppings and additives, every serving of cereal, cereal-based snack and beverage can now be customized to suit a particular end user's tastes and/or dietary needs.
