    • In the field of gate drivers there is provided a regulated voltage source (10; 10A, 10B), for a gate driver (200; 300) of a gas-tube switching device (18) having a gate terminal (26) via which the switching device (18) can at least be turned on. The regulated voltage source (10; 10A, 10B) comprises an input terminal (12) via which the regulated voltage source (10; 10A, 10B) in use receives current. The regulated voltage source (10; 10A, 10B) also includes first and second connection terminals (22, 24) via at least one of which the regulated voltage source (10; 10A, 10B) in use applies a voltage (V) to a gate terminal (26) of a gas-tube switching device (18). In addition the regulated voltage source (10; 10A, 10B) includes a regulated energy storage stage (28) which is electrically connected between the input and output terminals (12, 22, 24) and which includes a primary energy storage device (30; 30A, 30B) connected in parallel with a storage limiter (34) to limit the amount of energy stored in the primary energy storage device (30; 30A, 30B). Between the primary energy storage device (30; 30A, 30B) and the storage limiter (34) lies an energy retainer (46) to prevent the escape of energy from the primary energy storage device (30; 30A, 30B) via the storage limiter (34). The regulated voltage source (10; 10A, 10B) further includes a freewheel diode (50) that is arranged in parallel with the energy storage stage (28) and a secondary energy storage device (52; 52A, 52B) which is arranged in parallel with each of the freewheel diode (50) and the energy storage stage (28).

    • PURPOSE:To simplify the circuit construction, to make high performance and to make a low cost by using each block both as an A/D and a D/A conversion modes. CONSTITUTION:An A/D and a D/A converters are constituted of an analogue switch circuit 1 for input signal switching, an analogue switch 2, a sampling switch 3, the current switches 4-5, the operation amplifiers 9 and 11, a low-pass filter 10, etc., and an integrating amplifier 12 and attenuators 31-32 are provided. And, the above-mentioned change-over switch 1 gets an audio signal passed through the A/D conversion mode and gets a discharged and charged (integral) signal outputted through the D/A conversion mode every conversion periods of the output of an integrator 9. And, a sample hold circuit has the hold capacity 19, a sampling switch 2, etc., and its signal becomes an output analogue signal through the low-pass filter 10 and an output buffer amplifier 11. Accordingly, even the A/D and the D/A conversion modes can transfer a signal having the maximum amplitude limited by power voltage to the after- low pass filter 10.

    • PURPOSE:To decrease the gate power source capacity and to reduce the cost by supplying the first gate pulse to be supplied within the normal conduction period and the second gate pulse of forced ignition for evervoltage protecting purpose at the shortage time of the floating angle to the gate of SCR. CONSTITUTION:The forward and backward voltage detecting signals are converted to the electric signals through light guide 2 and via light-electric signal converter circuit 31. And floating angle shortage signal (f) is generated through floating angle decision circuit 33 to be turned to the input of pulse generator circuit 36, and output pulse (k) featuring a wide duration is delivered when the floating angle is short. On the other hand, operation signal (b) and forward voltage detection signal (c) are supplied to AND circuit 35 with output signal (e) used for the input of circuit 36. Circuit 36 produces pulse signal (j) of a narrow duration at the conduction start and intermittent time. Signal (j) and (k) are turned to signal via OR circuit 34 and then converted to the light through electric-light signal converter circuit 37 to be transmitted to the high-potential part via light guide 2. Pulse (j) featuring a narrow pulse duration is transmitted more frequently than signal (k). As a result, the gate power source capacity can be decreased as a whole, thus ensuring the cost reduction.
