    • An engine system includes a compression ignition engine having exhaust gas recirculation controlled by a valve and supplied with fuel by a pumping apparatus. The valve is controlled by an operator including a spring loaded piston. The pressure of fluid applied to the piston is controlled by a spring loaded piston and the force applied by the spring is controlled in accordance with the setting of a fuel control member which controls the fuel supplied to the engine by the apparatus. In a preferred arrangement the fuel control member is a throttle and valve means the setting of which is responsive to the throttle position, and is provided for controlling a fluid pressure applied to the piston in opposition to the spring.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize the operation of an EGR valve in a control device of an internal combustion engine set to fully open the EGR valve to avoid the shortage of intake quantity when a command value of injection quantity of fuel suddenly increases. SOLUTION: This control device is provided with an averaging processing part 14 for conducting averaging processing for the injection quantity command value adjusted so that the car velocity is constant during auto cruise, and outputting the averaged value as an injection quantity command value for controlling the EGR valve. Taking notice of the fact that under the auto cruise control in which a sudden increase in required torque is not assumed, the averaging processing is conducted for the injection quantity command value, whereby the EGR valve 2 is prevented from be frequently totally closed in the case where the injection quantity command value just varies little by little.     • PURPOSE:To prevent abnormal combustion from occuring when fuel is short and prevent the damage of an engine, by committing a return of exhaust gas to a suction system when an injection system of a fuel jet engine is decreased in a pressure. CONSTITUTION:Fuel from a fuel tank 1 is fed to a delivery pipe 5 through a fuel filter 2 and a fuel pump 3, and a pressure regulator 6 is connected to the delivery pipe 5 to regulate a fuel pressure. The pressure of the delivery pipe 5 is detected by a pressure switch 8, and when the pressure is below a given pressure, the switch turns ON to excite a solenoid 16, which results in bringing an EGR valve 5 into an OFF state. As a result, exhaust gas is returned to a suction manifold 28 through a pipe 23 to slightly worsen a combustion condition.
