    • A cable grab assembly includes a body having a longitudinally extending internal cavity disposed therein. A piston is disposed in the cavity and is axially moveable between a first position and a second position. At least two grab arms are hingedly attached to a bottom end of the body. A linkage assembly operatively couples the piston and the at least two grab arms such that movement of the piston between the first position toward the second position causes the at least two grab arms to pivot inward from an open position toward a closed position. A shear-pin restrains the piston to the first position. At least one spring element is disposed between the piston and an end of the cavity to shift the piston from the first position toward the second position to capture a broken cable when the shear-pin is sheared.

    • A cable hanger for use in a cable-guided fishing operation is disclosed. The disclosed invention provides a cable hanger in which a specially-shaped hanger body is connected to a handle having a cable groove running through it. The cable groove allows for the centerline of a cable to run through the centerline of the handle, thereby allowing for a straight-line pull to be exerted on the cable through the cable hanger. The specially-shaped hanger body is operatively connected to a specially-shaped body cover by a plurality of links. In this way, the hanger body and cover form a "clamshell" arrangement in which the cover can rotate from an open position to a closed position around the cable. When in the closed position, the cover and body are bolted together along the side of the cover and body opposite the links. The hanger body and cover are designed such that the cable rests closer to the links rather than in the center of the hanger body such that the moment arm between the bolts and the cable is increased, thereby increasing the amount of clamping force that can be provided by the bolts.

    • The present invention discloses a salvaging head for a petroleum instrument salvaging system, which comprises: a lifting part, for connecting a lifting rope; an insertion rod, which is located under the lifting part and used for protruding into a stair-shaped salvaging hole, and is set with a notch on both sides of the free end thereof; two clamping pieces, which are respectively hinged in two notches, and the clamping face thereof can be in hooking fit with a hooking face in the horizontal plane, wherein the hinge part of the two clamping pieces is located on one end thereof, and the other end is set with a pulling rope, wherein the pulling rope is strained gradually as the clamping face rotates to the horizontal plane, and the orientations of the other ends, which are connected with the pulling rope, of the two clamping pieces are opposite to each other; a compression spring, which is set between the other end of each clamping piece and the sidewall of the corresponding notch, for applying a restoring force that makes the clamping face of the clamping piece in the horizontal plane. The invention further discloses a petroleum instrument salvaging system. By the above solutions, the current problems of large labor intensity, low efficiency, high cost and large economic loss caused by salvaging a petroleum instrument via pulling drill rods out of the drilling well can be solved.
